My friend and I ate at the bar - Joel, as well as the premium Mojitos, always great. Food was terrific too - as always - fresh, delicious. Atmosphere is friendly and pleasant - not too loud - but we were there on the early side (Happy hour! 2 for 1 drinks!) - before 7pm. What I like best is... More
Ortanique is one of South Florida's special restaurants. Tucked quietly amidst the Miracle Mile shops in downtown Coral Gables, chef Cindy Hutson's substantial followers are constantly surprised with new menu items usually combining the spices and fruits of the islands with the south Florida's freshest of fish and/or prime meats and pastas into somethings quite indescribable. On Valentines Day at... More
We were a party of four. Service was very friendly and prompt. It isn't fancy but has a nice feel. Serving portions were generous, especially the calamari appetizer. Seafood was well prepared and hot on arrival. We were too full for dessert, but enjoyed our evening here and recommend it.
Was here over the past week and enjoyed the jerked pork and mojitos! The atmosphere was very nice and lively. I was there for business and it was a little noisy for larger conversations, but that was ok as it was informal dinner meeting. woiuld go back on own or with family.
This restaurant is not my favorite. Food is average at best , not bad but not a lot of fantasy and taste. my fish was too cocked , dry; other dishes flat. Is it trying to be an italian kitchen? Visit plsss Italy and check! Very difficult to hear each other talk in this restaurant , a very bad acoustic!... More
We have eaten in several restaurants in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, this was the best. The room is lovely and tables are well spaced...so the noise is at a reasonable level even when packed, which it was. The ceviche and red bean soup were both excellent as first courses...nicely spiced and well presented. The fish dishes - mahi-mahi, tuna... More
I am not an easy TripAdvisor Reviewer. This was my first Excellent review. It took me a while to post because I wanted perspective. Months later I still want to return to the bar for drinks that made me feel I was in the islands. The fish tasted as if it had been in the ocean just hours before. The... More
The meals we had at Ortanique were just average. The mussels were terrific and this would be a greta main course by ordering the large portion. The garlic bread was great to dip in the mussels sauce. The mani mani was dry and not very good. One in the party had the flat iron steak and liked it. Wine list... More
Really disappointed fellow TAs. My caesar lemon garlic salad arrived with more Caesar salad dressing that I thought possible, without any taste of either lemon or garlic. It was inedible unless you like gloppy salad dressing with a few lettuce leave mixed in it. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with a soy sesame sauce and my son ordered a salmon... More
