Hard to to not get excited thinking about the wonderful evening we spent here and the food we enjoyed. Located on the north end of Key West just a couple of blocks off Duval St on Front St. There's a parking lot w reasonable rates right next door. You can see their sign even from Duval St so it's really easy to find. The sit right above a marina so the views are very pleasing as is the wrap-around deck for dining as well. Of course they have seating inside but we wanted to be as close to the water/marina so we sat on the narrow deck. Their serving staff is excellent and exude professionalism. We started with a bottle of wine and decided on the Jumbo Scallops ($38.00) and the Lobster Risotto ($45.00) both of which were some of the best seafood we've ever had anywhere! I was so overwhelmed by the Risotto that I asked for the Executive Chef (Val) to come out so we could thank him personally. He did and stayed awhile giving us a background on Florida lobsters. Our server James was cordial and attentive. A pleasure! A&B Lobster House will be our first stop next time we visit Key West. Thanks you Val

I would consider this to be a higher priced restaurant - but I have very limited experience in the Key West area. But, I believe that this is very appropriate given the delicious food. And in addition, the service was exceptional (perhaps something more rare than exceptional food!). We found everyone to be highly attentive - and giving delicious food recommendations. We had scallops and the BLT wedge salad.

This is a must go. Our waiter Luther ( and I’m terrible with names) made this a special evening. The food was spot on, from the lobster bisque to the steaks, crab, and lobsters. It’s all excellent. The wine service, the atmosphere overlooking the marina with the breeze blowing through just makes it all work. It was my daughters birthday and I can’t say enough good about it.

The A & B Lobster House was recommended by our hotel. With a waterfront location, the restaurant boasts spectacular views of the adjacent marina and waters beyond. The ambience is definitely upscale and, although it is in Key West, we felt somewhat underdressed in our casual island wear (shorts and collared shirts.) The entrees are pricey, but well-prepared and accompanied by small, rather uninspired side dishes. Our party of four ordered the Caribbean lobster tail, the crab cakes and the grilled grouper with coconut rice. All were well-prepared, though the lobster was slightly overcooked. One in our group ordered the New England clam chowder which was delicious—rich and creamy with a smokey flavor. The service was attentive and friendly. On the whole, a good portion of the price of our meal covered ambience and location. One note on parking: The lot adjacent the restaurant charges $5 per hour.

I took my wife here for her birthday with the expectation of a fine dining experience but we were quickly disappointed. Having a name that contains lobster house you would think surely this is the place to have lobster but it couldn't be further from the truth at least in our experience. We first ordered some champagne to begin the celebration and also oysters Rockefeller and carpaccio. those were enjoyable but that's where the good times ended. We then decided to move to the main course needless to say lobster. We were immediately disappointed by the words we don't have any lobsters except for a couple of four pounders at $138. Well at least they had lobster but really the "lobster house" has no normal-sized 1-2 lb lobsters? So with not much choice we ordered one of the 4 lb to split between us. About 10 mins or so later were were graced with this huge lobster that had been split in half for each of us. it really was quite a sight. I began to eat mine and my wife says is this cooked and I looked at the translucent sushi like piece she had on her fork and I said um no its raw dont eat it. Ok so now I knew right there the birthday is shot to hell. I took a good 5-8 minutes for the waiter to show up so we could tell him and he said ok I will take this half back and we will cook it some more. WTF? I have never heard of any restaurant refiring a lobster unless you like shoe leather. I said no we dont want it cooked more. It's unacceptable for a $138 lobster. So off he went and I expected a vist from the manager but that didnt happen. The waiter came back and said would you like something else and we will comp your appetizers. I really had to hold off laughing but inside I'm now getting upset and asked him to send over the manager. I'm waiting for someone to at least say we will make you a fresh one but my thought was maybe the chef cant cook 4 lb lobsters so they cant. The manager finally came over and we explained the issue and he looked at me with this blank stare and asked me "so what do you want me to do"? Can you imagine a fine dining restaurant manager asking the customer how to fix a food issue? I said I dont know you are the manager arent you. So he agreed to take half of the lobster cost off of the bill. Really? They should have paid me and my wife to stay there at this point. NEVER ONCE were we offered replacement food. Its absolutely unacceptable and unhear of in the restaurant business. Needless to say we were very disappointed and will never return. It was everything you shouldn't do when trying to satisfy unhappy customers. Just unbelievable. Sorry guys you blew this one. Thanks.

We arrive prior to 5:30 for dinner and was told by the hostess there were no tables available outside for 2 people ( although there were over 5 empty tables available). We said we would wait the 20 minutes she expected a table to be ready at the bar. After 20 minutes I went back to see if the tables were now available - a new lady was at the hostess station and I asked if the table was ready she immediately said yes. The first hostess came to the desk and I asked why she didn’t text us as promised. She had no answer. Food was good, but bad service by hostess. There are many good restaurant to choose from, so this could stop potential diners in the future. Treating guest is important.

We have been visiting A&B Lobster on our annual Key West vacations for the past 15 years. What has kept us returning are the Oysters Rockefeller, Surf ‘n Turf and the Bananas Foster dessert. Last week’s visit left us disappointed! Although we had great service, the Surf ‘n Turf is just not what it used to be. The steak and lobster were meh!! The asparagus was soggy and they were out of Bananas Foster. At $84 for the Surf ‘n Turf entree, the expectation is a great, satisfying meal! The Oysters Rockefeller were great as usually. We were just very disappointed in the S ‘n T. Perhaps had the meal not been so expensive and so satisfying on past visits, our expectations wouldn’t be above average.

Wasnt too impressed with A&B. The service was slow from being seated to being approached. We had to ask for bread and water after 15 minutes. We had a beutiful table outside overlooking the marina which is a great draw and we were tolerant of the slow service. Once we ordered our waiter wasnt very helpful or interested in helping one of our guests find something suitable for them to eat due to a restricted diet. We all settled on our food and maybe 2 of 6 of us were happy. The salads came disorganized and unappetizing. The lobster was okay, but the side dishes they came with were really bland and he mashed potatoes were awful. I'd been here before and had such a better exoerience, honestly my last visit is what brings it from a 2 star to a 3.

We booked this place for a romantic Valentine’s dinner. We’ve enjoyed the food and service here before and thought it would be a perfect night out. It started off great as our view from our table on the back patio was spectacular- actually watched Coach Saban entertaining on his yacht in the harbor. Unfortunately, our waiter had a mishap as he was delivering our drinks and spilled a carafe of hot coffee all over my husband. He literally had coffee from head to toe and our table setting was sopping wet. He ran to the bathroom to clean up and asked a manager to help clean up the table to try and salvage PF night out. He really was quite a trooper about it, but his brand new expensive shirt was ruined and he had some mold burns under his clothing. The manager, Diane, only offered to buy him a drink. When I suggested that she should do better than that and perhaps comp his meal, she scoffed at me and loudly rebuked the suggestion. He’s not one to ask for anything but told her she could keep her drink! We tried to settle in and enjoy the meal, but the food we ordered was subpar at best. My lobster thermidor was inedible. I literally ate one bite. My husband ordered the grouper Oscar and the fish was not fresh. We are Floridians, so we know fresh fish. It turned his stomach and he did not eat it. Though he noticed that we didn’t eat, the waiter said nothing and took our plates away. I’m sure there are much better places to book for a romantic dinner in Key West. We will endeavor to find one when we return.

My husband loves seafood but me - not so much. A & B had a good selection of beef, so I ordered a filet and he had lobster. When our server asked how I’d like mine cooked, I said medium, and then asked her specifically what medium looks like at A & B. Her response was “a light pink.”When our meals came out, my filet was dark red. I’m from Chicago and I know my steak. Red is not medium, so I asked to have it cooked a bit longer. When she brought it back again, it was still quite red. To be fair, she offered to take it back again, but I said no because my husband was 1/2 way through his meal. I ate a couple bites around the edges, but ultimately my dinner consisted of potatoes and green beans. When the server returned later, I asked for a box and also asked to have the steak taken off the bill. Shouldn’t be charged $60 for a steak that was wasn’t right after two tries. I was told that it could not be removed from the bill if I took it home with me. I guess that’s fair, but I felt some attitude. I would have expected the manager to stop by and apologize, but no one did. This place appears to be a high class restaurant, but the way my meal was handled was very poor. When I made the reservation, I also indicated that it was our wedding anniversary. Not sure the point of that question since it was never mentioned and there was no special recognition. My husband enjoyed bhis lobster, but overall, it was a very disappointing meal.

Yes, Their Key Lime Pie is the best in Key West. Yes, that was desert after the sensational tomatoes and mozzarella, and yellowtail snapper. The setting was beautiful, the heaters and the excellent service were appreciated. The price for the dinner was well worth the quality of the food, service and setting.

We had some friends meet us down in Key West and after talking to several locals, boat captains and uber drivers we were steered to A&B for a more upscale dinner on the water. This place reminds me of an old school supper club when you walk into the swanky lounge with red leather seating and rich wood tones galore. The dining room and pation are a bit more contemporary with upscale decor. We made a reservation prior to arrival which is suggested and were seated immediately. We started with a little bit of everything off the starters menu with the carpaccio, escargot, caesar salad with come anchovies and of course the lobster bisque. The appetizers were fabulous! For dinner I had the lobster oscar with plenty of crap and house made hollandaise on top. This place is amazing, fresh seafood and rather reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing dinner at A&B! We sat outside overlooking the docks and our server could not be more attentive. The lobster bisque was amazing as was the seafood pasta dish and grouper. It is not inexpensive but well worth the cost.

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The food was great but the view was superb. Among the other restaurants here in the marina area, this one stands out as it is upstairs and a very quiet romantic spot. The view of the marina is great. temperature permitting, get a table outside. The price points are a bit higher than other touristy eateries, but its worth the peace and quiet, if you are looking for this.
