We had not been to a Ponderosa in years & were looking forward to a good steak dinner. The prices seemed a bit high as we are used to Golden Corral with the huge buffet. Some of the food tasted canned. They were very diligent in having people wear gloves at the buffet which we appreciated.

Ponderosa is always of a good standard of food. In the price you get both your main meal and access to the buffet which has a wide variety. The price is very cost-effective if you aren't looking to spend a fortune on dinner and there is plenty of parking!

Shabby dining area, good food and staff, worth a visit especially with little ones.

Went here for an evening meal, family of four and chose to eat off the Buffett. The staff from the moment we walked in were very helpful, friendly and attentive. The food looked and tasted good with a large selection. It was a shame that it was not labelled which generated questions from us what some items were. These were answered with no issues by a friendly lady behind the hot plate. It is all you can eat and great for kids who need a hearty meal with alternatives to tenders and burgers. The dining area needed some attention as it was tatty and dated, though clean. Do not be put off by the appearance of the decor or seating.

We went as a party of 10 and found the service to be good and the quality of the food to be wonderful. Ponderosa allows you to order a main meal, plus have the buffet included in this price. We all found that the price was reasonable, and the selection on the buffet catered for all of us.

Worst Food Ever

My family went in and we paid for basically butt on a plate. The food was disgusting the spaghetti and meatballs tasted like the SpaghettiOs out of a can. The fried chicken was old and cold. The mac & cheese was super Duper runny and Cold. The waitress took forever to bring the drinks in when she did the fruit punch had a nasty after taste. I would not let my worst enemy eat here the overall experience was terrible if I could give them 0 rating I surely would.

First of all, once you enter the restaurant, you must choose your steak from a rather expensive menu if you want one. The buffet alone is about $15.00 each plus your steak plus tax and plus tip. We were disappointed also to see that the staff, though some were wearing a mask on their chins, only one or two had the mask on their face. None who were actually preparing the food were wearing a mask properly. Our waitress was not wearing a mask at all the entire time we were there! The food on the buffet was warm at best. There were no plastic gloves available for serving yourself. And, there was no hand sanitizer found anywhere. The restaurant in general was not very clean anywhere including the bathrooms. If you are a Veteran, be sure to tell the cashier when you arrive to get a discount.

the staff is rude, insolent and incompetent. The server was on lunch they sat us in her section for over 30 minutes before we ever got drinks as she was at lunch, and the food was as cold as the staff. Half the food was cold and the other half was just disgusting.

Such a pity

Overpriced, rude staff, (no tip left), not recommended unless you would prefer to spend way too much for food cooked in a servo, pay extra where the salad bar, extra again for ice-cream or sweet. Only good bit is that drinks are bottomless. Woe betide you if any of your party are handicapped. Standing waiting for a table not ideal. Won't be returning

Run, Run as Fast as You Can - Away

If you don’t run away, you will be running for the bathroom. We had eaten at Ponderosa over 20 years ago when my now adult kids were young and remembered it as a good experience with tasty low price food.the Ponderosa’s in our part of the country had been closed for a long, long time. Nostalgia made us stop, but the empty parking lot should have been a clue that we should change our mind. Simply, the food was NOT good. We avoided many things on the buffet as it appeared spoiled. Steak tips were difficult to chew. All desserts seemed inedible. Cheese for nachos was watered down. There was a sign at the front that said “Absolutely No Refunds”. Another warning sign we ignored. The decor was dated and worn and dirty. Bathroom was a mess. The only positive was the staff were friendly and attentive.

Not many choices

If you're going to go just for the buffet don't. They've cut it way back. Only cheap stuff, for example: meat on buffet was pot roast, fried chicken and chicken wings. They are pushing you to buy a $20-$30 steak. Also most of the tables were dirty.

Excellent food and price!

We ate there about 3 times during our visit because you couldn't beat the price of getting a steak along with the buffet bar. We enjoyed the food and received great service. There isn't that many desserts to choose from but it's definitely worth the price.

Very Disappointed

This restaurant was probably the low point of our spring break trip. Maybe we are just not buffet people, but when you have to pay for the buffet in advance you also have to leave a tip at that point in time (unless you have cash to leave on the table). How can you know how much to tip before you meet your server? Plus, all they do is bring your beverages. We were seated right next to other groups of people even though there were booths open farther away. The food was underwhelming. None of us truly enjoyed our food. Plus, we spent more on buffets here than the night we went to a mid-range steakhouse! I would say go elsewhere.

Hugely Disappointed

Haven’t been to Florida for a couple of years but when we did we always used to use this restaurant. Visited today on our return to Florida and what a massive disappointment. Initially we were surprised that there was no queue like when we last visited but it quickly became clear why. The food was of very poor quality and massively overpriced for what it was. The restaurant itself is so run down it’s now a very unwelcome environment. It’s really sad to seen a once good restaurant in such a poor state. Unfortunately after today’s experience we would never visit this restaurant again.

Not that good

The initial person sat at the checkout looked so miserable. Wow she really didn’t want to be there no smile to greet you or any humour The food is very average and looks pretty stale. It’s so k if you want to fill up on tasteless food and get your money worth. Don’t expect too much quality food as there isn’t any. The server was a nice lady and seemed to be trying her best to keep a smile going. Would I return…… Sadly not

Gone downhill

I was never a big fan of ponderosa, I preferred GC, bit wife always liked here. Can't give a review as we didn't make it past front door! Ponderosa always had reputation for being reasonable price and good buffet. This was our first trip to florida in 3 years due to covid, thought we would stop in for a steak, so prices have doubled, nearly $20 for what was always an average steak, but the real shock was that they now charge for the buffet too, so add a drink in and ur talking close to $30 each, add in that the ice cream machine not working , and the fact that there were so many available tables, which is so different from the old days!!!! We decided to go elsewhere, drove 5 minutes to texas roadhouse where better quality steak was on sale for less than ponderosa. This was a once fine restaurant which has seen its best days behind it
