About
Originally opened as far back as 1707, The Leg of Mutton and Cauliflower has always been a focal point in the community. Now under new management, The Leg is back to where it should be, serving the very best quality Cask Ale, Fine Wines, carefully selected Larger's, plus our popular German wheat bear and a large variety of Gins and Whisky. Our traditional pub food is cooked fresh and uses locally sourced ingredients. Our fabulous roast dinners are served all day on Sunday. The deceptively large traditional village pub has both a front garden and sheltered back garden and lawn. Plus car park. There is a separate space which can be hired for private functions with its own sound system, plus catering

A charming and traditionally decorated English pub with with very welcoming landlords who clearly have a deep understanding of hospitality and food service. The beers and food are consistently excellent. My wife and I are so pleased to have finally found an Ashtead pub that...can deliver on all fronts and all served alongside a wood burning fireplace ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️More

Six of us ate here yesterday lunchtime, sitting in the tidy, warm garden, with tables spaced out just so. Extremely obliging landlord Aunty Granty, runs a friendly well paced ship and allowed us to park a couple of cars in the spacious car park while...we walked to the Langley Vale Wood and back pre-lunch. Simple yet adequate post lockdown menu saw us choosing ribs and tasty burgers. Well cooked and speedily served by friendly, efficient staff. Certainly worth a look in if you're in the Ashstead neck of the DownsMore

I recently organised lunch for several separate and socially distanced groups of cyclists for a lunchtime pit-stop with staggered arrival/ departure times to comply with rule of 6and social distancing requirements. Natalie was very helpful with arrangements providing a choice very well separated inside and...sheltered outside seating. There is a lot of space both inside and outside. A choice of hearty and good value sandwiches were made available (with prior arrangement) and riders were generally very pleased with the food, drink and service.More

Took a trip to The Leg for Friday drinks, and despite the new rules with masks, table service, rule of 6 etc it was an extremely welcoming atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyable evening. The owners / managers have found the perfect balance between safety and enjoyment....A special mention to Carys (sp?) the attentive barmaid who was wonderful despite being run off her feet, five stars and please pass on my thanks!More

Warm staff and cold beer. Nice food and a good local crowd. What more can you ask for from a pub? Oh yes Grant bring back the bacon fries. My regular 2 pints of Fosters haunt. What a proper Local pub should be

My family (10 of us) met for Sunday Lunch which we have done on a few occasions now because we have had such a wonderful time. The food is lovely, freshly prepared and cooked to perfection and the service has been super efficient a special...mention to Harry for his care and to Natalie the land lady for always making us feel so welcome this really is a child friendly pub. We will continue to frequent The Leg and I recommend that you do so to , so nice to finally have a pub in the village that you can dine at.More

Three stars. The pub staff lack dynamism. The food was plentiful but lack love. An example being the waffles were clearly bought from the coop next door. Sunday roast was presented in a big portion but full of boiled vegetables and chicken. I was disappointed...on the potatoes. No crispiness at all. Not to my taste but other people at my table liked it. Hence my average scoreMore
