Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Grass Roof Cafe is located within the amazing grounds of the Organic Centre in the little village of Rossinver near to Lough Melvin. It's an incredible and inspiring place that we never fail to visit when we're in Leitrim and the simple but charming...cafe is a great place to grab a bowl of organic vegetable soup or a herbal tea.More

These guys make the best vegetarian food I've had in Ireland and the prices are excellent. Don't know how they make a profit to be honest. I love this place.

Cafe not sampled, and decidedly quiet on Saturday afternoon, though there was a group visiting the polytunnels. Great variety of organic produce grown in 10 or so polytunnels, including tomatoes, many varieties of lettuce and courgette. Shop sells huge variety of seeds.

The Grass Roof cafe isn't really the kind of place you pop in to. Take time to tour the Organic Gardens - if you're a local you get special discount. the environ is like a countryside hostel. The food is really good, no fuss, filling...& they understand all about allergens! the coffee is only filtered, no americano or latte, but it is good coffee. price is good, have eaten here few times (coeliac) & really enjoy sitting in porch & relaxing. pick up some potted herbs to plant when you're at it!More

Visit the organic centre today for their annual tomato day. While waiting for the event to start decided to have some lunch in the cafe and what a treat that turned out to be. Delicious freshly prepared food in a lovely relaxed environment. Would highly...recommend it if you're in the area.More

The Grass Roof Cafe is bright and cheery and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I was a bit torn as to what to have to eat as I’d seen the pizzas on the Facebook page and they looked amazing. In the end I went...for the slow braised rib of beef in Meabh Rua Irish Bog Ale (from White Hag), served on buttery crushed potatoes, with seasonal vegetables and Jordan’s Peat smoked salt. It was delicious, the beef was melt in the mouth and it was all seasoned perfectly. For dessert I had chocolate cake, which was gorgeous. I love that the menu caters for vegans and also has gluten free options. The Grass Roof Cafe is in The Organic Centre and is open every weekend. Well worth a visit.More

I visited the Grass Roof Cafe with my dad and two sisters last Saturday. We were going to the Organic Centre and saw there was a cafe there. We got talking to the chef Aisling a friendly woman and a genius with organic food (more...on that later). We ordered our food and she told us it would be about 20 mins. We explored the gardens at the Centre and all its attractions such as the very large geodesic greenhouse, the witches hut and the many polytunnels all of them abundant with many different types of organic fruit and veg! When we returned Aisling had our food ready. I had spaghetti with tomato sauce and pesto topped with cheese. My sisters both had chips and fish fingers. My dad had root of vegetable soup with coconut. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the best part was it was all organic and most of it was grown within 100 metres of the restaurant. While we eating a head gardener there, Dick Roberts, came over to us. He introduced himself and talked to us about gardening. He gave us some fantastic advice and recommended a brilliant book on growing veg in the northwest of Ireland (no easy feat!) Our meal came to €23 and was worth every cent of it. Everything about the food from the taste to the chef herself was lovely. We were given great service by everyone we met at the Organic Centre from the gardener Dick to the receptionist to the chef Aisling. It was a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday morning and would highly recommend a trip to the Organic Centre to anyone in the North west of Ireland. It is only a 40 minute drive from Sligo Town. While you there at the Organic Centre don't leave without visiting the Grass Roof Cafe, you certainly won't regret it!More
