I sent back the pieces not on my plate. They sent back the same chicken in a milder sauce, but the chicken which... More

Delicious food with excellent service. This is definitely one place I will visit again. Thank you for letting my family feel like they were in Kerala.

Being a South Indian - would rate this average for taste, just average for ambience, very very over priced for the quality, average for cleanliness and below average for service. Although it's a Dakshin Restaurant -- it doesn't include Andhra , Orissa and most Tamil dishes !!

The staff was very welcoming. I really enjoyed the chicken vindaloo, you would have to be vindaloony not to eat here.

They honestly should change the name to duckshin because this restaurant is so fly. This is the first indian restaurant i went to where they asked me if i had any complaints and i had naan. Seriously, its the bomb, i plan to take all my clients to Dakshin from now on.

I had the Shrimp Madras, and it tasted great! The shrimp with the gravy went so well together. The atmosphere was good too. 10/10 will come again.

Living in Orlando, there are not a lot of good Indian restaurants around here that can really provide the same flavor. This restaurant definitely proved to be an exception to the trend. The first time I went I was amazed by the amount of flavor and work that went into preparing the food. I tried the Chicken Chettinad and it... More

Clearly, this place has great employees who aren't rude, great customer service and tasty food!! I ordered chicken biryani, which to my surprised was overly filling. Great amount with the amount you pay... More

My family always stops by an new Indian place when we go out of town. This time we stopped here. The menu had stuff I've never seen before, and normally found items were missing. Turns out this was "Southern Indian cuisine." I had the chicken masala (spelling?), and I asked it to be "as hot as you can get it."... More

Description
First of its kind in Orlando, India's innovative cuisine, the very name 'Dakshin' evokes opulence in taste and decor.

Dakshin introduces you to a cuisine from the southern part of India stretching from the rugged coastlines of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to the sun-drenched beaches of Goa and Mumbai on India's western coast. As spectacular and surprising as the country sides are, so are the cuisines of its many communities, which were confined by and large to family kitchens, until Dakshin, the restaurant, captured and showcased them.

Created from a wealth of local spices, red chillies, coconut, pepper and spices of the coast, the cuisines of the Tamilians of Tamil Nadu, the Malayalees of Kerala, the Bunts of Mangalore, the Portuguese of Goa and the East Indians of Mumbai, are a delight to the taste buds.
