You place your order at the bar and the wait staff brings it to you when it's ready. It's a small place, so difficult to accommodate larger groups. Food was all very good...would return.

Good Morning Deb, Thank you for your review on our pub! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the menu, and that you'll be returning. However, we are able to accommodate larger groups. We have three different rooms to our pub; the "old" room, the main room where our stage {for entertainment} is located, and upstairs {where we book many... More

Visited the Celtic Ray with 12 other former classmates who were in Punta Gorda for our 50 year High School Class Reunion. The restaurant was very accommodating of our large group. What a fun place. We ordered various menu items and everyone indicated how delicious it was. Very high marks for fish and chips and shephard's pie (what I had).... More

Your visit will make you feel so comfortable and like you are part of the total family. No one is a stranger when you visit the local pub at the corner of Nesbit and Marion in downtown Punta Gorda. The Celtic Ray was the center of activity during the big hurricane Charlie and never closed. The news media was taken... More

My wife and I had dinner here recently. In the Irish Pub tradition, we placed our order at the bar and took a seat at a table for two. The food and drinks were served at our table and were very enjoyable.

Chicken Vindaloo, Fish n Chips, Scotch Eggs and even fresh soda bread... damn this was good. Atmosphere was being back in Ireland at the local pub.... Good selection of beers as well..

Heard about this pub from a friend. Great food and drinks. We tried the scotch egg, Reuben, Salmon plate, baked beans, potatoes soup. All did not disappoint. Guinness pints were perfect. Highly recommended.

True irish pub atmosphere. Great beer selection with full bar. Frindly, efficient staff. Owner often on site. Live entertainment most evenings. We have to get our Irish at least 3 to 4 times a month. Limited but very pleasing menu. Ecpect crowds in the prime evening hours.

Food was very bland. I thought for a bit that it was trying to be authentic Irish but everything needed to be salted, peppered, vinegared, etc. Very annoying that there was no wait service. The Irish music was equally bland and inauthentic.

Good Morning Randy, Thank you for your review on our pub. Your initial thoughts were correct, we are in fact an authentic Irish pub. The owner is from Ireland, and his hopes for our patrons are that they feel as though they have stepped foot in a pub in Ireland. Some of the things that help out with the authenticity/making... This is a neat place. Uniquely decorated and frequent live bands. I think our problem was that it was a crowded night and we were directed upstairs to find a table. You find a table and order food at the bar, which they then bring to your table. It's a little cafeteria-ish in that respect. Not very family-friendly, though it... More

Description
FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!
