Homemade ice cream and some unusual flavors made the choice for a milkshake flavor difficult to choose. A great place for the ice cream lover!

We were intrigued by the name "Orange Octopus", an ice cream shop that also advertised coffee! We stopped in to check it out and discovered a great small business right in the heart of the plaza of Crescent Beach shops and restaurants. Ice cream is home-made yumminess and you can sample a variety of flavors before you decide on one...or... More

I had the cotton candy ice cream and it was great. The lady working let us try as many flavors as we wanted and they all seemed really good. There were a ton of kids there that seemed to really be enjoying themselves too. It's a great pair with Captain Curts for dessert since it's in the same plaza.

Wide range of quality ice creams with the option to taste a sample before purchase. Excellent service from staff - we skipped dessert at restaurants to visit.

I love ice cream. Never had better than this! The salted caramel is perfection. Not too sweet. We just happened upon the shop. It's tucked back behind Captain Curt's. I'm ready to get back on a plane just to get more!

We are an ice cream family. This place has a big selection and the ice cream delicious! Chocolate peanut butter is rich and decadent. LOVED IT!

After dinner with my wonderful wife, I thought icecream would be a great way to end the evening. Even when full she is always up for ice cream. Best cookie and cream we have ever had.

We tried the ice cream here the first night we were in Siesta Key and, "WOW!" is all we can say. Salted caramel is there best seller according to the worker. We got that and a Kentucky Honey Bourbon. Ice cream isn't the first thing I think of when pairing bourbon, but this stuff is amazing. We are planning a... More

We decided to entertain our grandchildren by comparing 10 ice cream shops using several criteria . Then we graphed the results. The Orange Octopus won in every category . Their ice cream is home made. It's flavors are delicious !

We first visited The Orange Octopus during a 2015 trip to Sarasota. We were hooked on the iced coffee at first sip and starting making daily trips for it. (Added bonus: They throw in a few frozen coffee ice cubes, so the coffee doesn't get watered down.) We really didn't intend to try the ice cream, but during one visit... More

Description
This old fashioned, family owned coffee and ice cream shop is located in Captain Curt's Village a few hundred yards south of the Stickney point (south bridge). It is beside the bike and kayak rental shop. They are super friendly and have a gourmet coffee bar, 24 flavors of hand churned, homemade ice cream. It is my favorite local coffee shop! I've never left disappointed.
