Good food. Quick service. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere Get the dumpling appetizer and Tom Kai soup. Went for lunch ... they have lunch specials with soup.

Average food at best, very high prices, and extremely rude staff. Not a group that I trust handling my food. Will definitely not be returning.
Outstanding food!!! Best Thai food I’ve eaten in years! House wine was delicious, as was the crab soup with delicious broth and veggies. Then shared chicken Pad Thai. Beautiful decor, great service! Hand sanitizer on the table. Large menu!!!!
I've be going to the Thai Ruby for years and frequently call in for take out as well. All dishes are well prepared and fresh. Prices are reasonable. And the staff are uniformly delightful and soft-spoken. Nice quiet atmosphere with excellent service. I have never...had any dish there that wasn't top-notch. Highly recommended.More
We live in Tampa Palms where the restaurant is located. Simply said, we love this restaurant. The food is so very good and the service is excellent
We’ve been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Tonight was no exception with excellent duck in red curry, beef broccoli and shrimp in green curry. Some of the dishes come out sizzling and smelling soooooo good! A very under appreciated restaurant in...new Tampa - a true hidden gem!More
Wonderful Thai food. And this cosy restaurant is a very nice place to go to when you want to have a quiet conversation with someone.
My wife and I have eaten there periodically for the last 18 years. We have seen the restaurant go downhill gradually. This time we were really disappointed. It took more than 10 minutes before a waiter showed up, then when we had place half of...our order she turned and went to another table before completing the order, and we had to wait another 10 minutes before she showed up again. We had the crab rangoon to start with; it was touch and tasteless, and not in the usual folded manner but in a ball. My wife had the shrimp (Item SP2) and while the shrimp were large they were also tough. No Briown rice. I had the Mussaman Curry (SP4), the curry was pretty good but the beef was touch and chewy. The claimed "extensive" wine list are six wines!!No decaffeinated coffee at 9:00 PM (or any other time). - The best I can say is that the atmosphere is nice. There are several better Thai restaurants not too far away.More
This has become the "go to" place for us to grab a relaxed dinner in the New Tampa area. This time my wife had a tofu with vegetables and vegetable soup. I had volcano shrimp and the Tom Yum Tofu soup. All the food was...delicious!More
A little confusion ordering and getting the bill. Slight impatience from one of the servers; albeit, the food was good and price reasonable.
I've been coming to Thai Ruby since I was a little kid, and they have the best Thai food! Highly recommend the red curry, panang, and amazing sauces. The tofu is also a fantastic choice; it is cooked perfectly! Such a treat coming here. Plus...the staff is always super friendly.More
My husband and I come here regularly, especially after a long day at work. They have several vegan options on the menu. It's usually quiet and relaxing. The food and service are always consistent. Sometimes it's a slow meal, but it's not meant to be...fast food, so I enjoy it, especially for a date night.More
My wife and I are regulars at Thai Ruby. On our latest visit we enjoyed great service in a relaxed atmosphere. The decor is very nice, and the booths have pillows making it very comfortable. The food is outstanding! I ordered pork Pad Thai, and...my wife ordered tofu Panang Curry. My water glass also never ran dry even though my spicy food had me drinking often!More
Well, the decor is nice. Glad they had pillows to support my back because we were there a very long time. We were seated quickly but it took a long time for them to wait on us. It wasn’t all that busy. Then it took...an hour for our food to arrive. Dumplings were good. Chicken Satay was tough, not much flavor. Peanut sauce cloyingly sweet. The main dish, two partners Penang, prawns and chicken with asparagus. Bland, asked for peppers. Only two prawns. Didn’t even finish it or bring home the leftovers. Overpriced for an underwhelming Thursday evening dinner.More
I've been to Thailand and tasted the food enough to know what it looks and tastes like. This place gets more like 1.5 stars for the service and atmosphere. Nice little cozy place with lots of Thai woodwork BUT beware of the sugar... egg rolls...so-so and sweet, beef sa-te $7 for 3 pieces of overcooked tough beef and a very sweet peanut sauce, $13 (!) for a pad thai that was like eating desert. I'm surprised the tap water wasn't sweetened... since I didn't eat my plate, the waitress recommended putting soy sauce on the food since it was too sweet; I was speechless. you'd think they would've taken it off the bill but no, she wasn't the owner and couldn't do anything. Really ??!! I've never heard such a crock of s..t. A waste of time and money for sure. Never again and more for those who have been have going there for many years. I'll be making a point reading their other reviews and not going to the places they recommend.More
