I have been here several times and the food is always terrific, as well as the atmosphere! House red wine, Sangria, salmon, chicken and rice, Kai lime pie, and so much more! There isn't a bad meal ever here!

Friend and I had an early dinner at Columbia which was delicious. We started with the 1905 salad and shared a 3 part tapas dinner. Had lobster flat bread, chicken and chorizo skewers and empanadas. Lots of food. It all was very tasty. The place itself is well cared for and the staff was helpful.

Sean and Dennis were our waiters for a party of 18 on a Sunday afternoon. "Above and Beyond" probably does not do it justice to describe Sean's efforts. One of our group had a dairy allergy and Sean went out of his way to make it easy on her to find the right item on the menu, even bringing out... More

Went for a fifth visit for dinner after having poor service on previous occasions and not returning for some time. It will be awhile before we return again. I can't argue with the crowd that goes here. It's packed. I like the food here. It's good. But the service and attentiveness to a party spending $300 for a dinner is... More

This restaurant is gorgeous, delicious and believe it or not CHEAP. I couldn't believe how great the prices were. Highly impressed. Beautiful decor and structure of the restaurant. The restaurant is very large inside but you can't tell from the outside. It's a must see and experience. Staff are in suits and the decor is so nice you feel like... More

My mother and I ate at the Columbia Restaurant after taking the Ybor City walking tour. We were impressed with the decor, seating in the patio (inside but feels like out), service, and food. The restaurant was large with several dining areas and a large bar. I ordered the half and half combo of the 1905 salad and Cuban sandwich.... More

The building makes you feel like your in a proper Spanish/mexican style hacienda or in Cuba. Ybor City location does the same. Service is professional. Food is fantastic. This place is packed even on a Monday. People seem to love the Cuban sandwiches. We had amazing tapas. The best empanada I ever had was at this place. Lobster croquettes.. delicious.... More

We decided to eat at Florida's oldest restaurant before attending a concert in Tampa. We had an early reservation and were seated relatively quickly. Our waiter arrived, brought us waters, and took our order. I ordered the ropa vieja and my husband ordered a Cuban sandwich. The food was delicious. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The service, however, was... More

This was not our first visit, however, tonight was the best visit. Our server, Julia, recommended the Costillitasde Cerdo Habana (baby pork ribs) and Gambas "Al Ajillo" Spanish shrimp in olive oil and garlic Tapas. Delicious!!! Could have made two orders of the baby pork ribs a meal, that good. Then we had the Spanish bean soup with ham and... More

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
