I am not normally a seafood person, but the hubby is...and when in Florida...seafood is a must. Rusty Bellies was awesome. Warm fresh hush puppies...eaten looking out over the water. My first taste of ceviche (with grouper, scallops and shrimp)...followed by warm and cheesy shrimp and grits. (Hubby had long neck clam belly) It was all so good I could... More

My sister was in to visit for the first time ad we wanted to try out this place. It was crowded so we took it as a good sign but; the chowder was mostly potatoes, the crab bisque was short on crab, even though it tasted okay. I had shrimp and grits which was okay but my hubby's food came... More

Excellent food. Loved the grouper. Arrive early and sit outside on the deck overlooking the water. We saw dolphins while we were there. Be sure to check out the seafood market

When a restaurant serves unfiltered water that tastes like it was pumped directly from the river, it speaks volumes. I counted 8 glasses of water on various nearby tables during our lunch visit and not any of them were emptied below a half glass including mine. When I asked the waitress for bottled water because mine was terrible, she said... More

Have dined here 12-15 times and have always had great meals. Shrimp and cheese grits are terrific. On weekend nights they have a singer on the outside deck.

We were suggested to eat here by a local. The shrimp tacos were amazing. The fritters they give you were so good. Salad was great. Everything looked amazing. The service was exceptional. I still dream about our dinner here....wishing to go back soon.

If your looking for fresh caught local seafood this restaurant is a go to. Seafood caught by the families own fishing boats and a very convenient seafood market attached to the restaurant. Outdoor entertainment and amazing food

There were 8 of us and surprisingly we were seated almost immediately. Started with a pitcher of delicious Sangria and several brews on draft ( Happy Hour prices were $2.50 a glass!). Next came several apps--the calimare was tender and nicely battered with an accompanying marinara sauce; the spicey shrimp were delicious as well. We had a variety of mains... More

My husband Jack and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, welcome you to Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill. Opened in June of 2005, Rusty Bellies is an achievement of three generations worth of goals spanning some thirty years. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our family came to Tarpon Springs in the 1970's. My parents, Joe and Sue Reis, began the business by purchasing several boats, including a shrimp boat. Before long they had purchased the boat yard and developed the seafood business. In 1985, Jack and I took over operations, and it wasn't long before Jack began refurbishing boats. In 2002. we launched our shrimp boat, Julie Ann. The Julie Ann produces fresh gulf shrimp for Pelican Point Seafood and Rusty Bellies. Jack has since finished refurbishing the Redman, a grouper fishing boat, and the Crabracadabra, a stone crab boat. To this day the Julie Ann, Redman, and Crabracadabra are still family owned and operated by the Russells. Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill is named for our family's love of fishing, namely gulf grouper fishing. A "Rusty Bellie" is the nickname given to the large male gag grouper. A "Rusty Bellie" generally ranges between twenty and sixty pounds, and is typically caught by the true at heart fisherpersons. As you look around our restaurant you will see photos of family, friends, and local fisherman that bring the freshest seafood to our dock. The menu gives credit to many of our fishermen by naming the dishes after their beloved boats. Of course, there are too many boats to give credit to each, but keep in mind their dedication to providing FRESH FLORIDA WILD CAUGHT SEAFOOD. It is an honor that we continue what our family began many yeas ago. We value our guests, and we are honored to have you dine with us. Please sit back and enjoy the view and allow us to prepare the freshest seafood, including gluten fee options, available for you. Julie and the Russell Family
