Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

great service, but diosyapointed in most of the food. Conch fritters and artichoke dipper very food. We ordered 4 orders of the fish and chips. It's served as one big piece of fish, much thicker than usual. The shape was more of a small brick...as opposed to the usual flay fish fillets I'm accustom to. 2 of the orders were still cold and raw in the center. The other 2 were slightly overcooked, but not bad enough to send back, Fries were not fresh or crispy, and the 1 tablespoon of coleslaw served was over salted. The mini spritzer for the malt vinegar was a cute idea. The 2 raw orders were re-fried and were ok. Not great, but ok. For $26, we should expect exceptional. The salmon added to the quinoa bowls was way over cooked. when you pay $10 additional for a piece of salmon, that better be better cooked. Maybe this was an off day. Friends of ours swear by this place. maybe they order more consistent items, burt this place is a non-return for us. Plenty of other options within walking distance. I hope this was a one-off and that your experience is better.More

My husband and I stopped here for brunch on Saturday. Brunch goes until 3 p.m. We experienced excellent service. He had the Reuben sandwich which was very good with homemade potato chips. I had the Nutella french toast with berries and a vanilla cream cheese....Everything was excellent. We would return when in the area.More

We ended very disappointed with our NYE dining experience there last night. We were shocked that there was only a handful of tables there, as we expected the place to be rumbling. We all opted to go for their NYE special, which included a 3...course meal. We had a party of 6, so we all got to try several things. For appetizers, the options were a salad, fried calamari, or piquillo peppers. The salad was OK, and the piquillo stuffed peppers with goat cheese was pretty good, and by far the best bite we had. But the fried calamari was completely overcooked, and boardaline was not edible. For the main course, the options were the Ahi tuna, Lentil bolognese, and a petite filet mignon. We all ended up choosing the filet, as it felt like the best bang for your buck. Out of the 6 filets, only 3 were cooked to the temperature requested, with the one person who asked for rare, who got a completely cooked filet. Then, it took another 20 minutes to bring her a new rare one? It's just unacceptable. For dessert, we have only two options; the creme Brule or the chocolate bread pudding. We all had to go with the creme Brule, as there was only one bread pudding left. Strange since there was nobody in the restaurant. The creme Brule was average, with no bean inside of it. It was tasted ok, but also overcooked. In summary, to be charged $70/person for overcooked calamari as an appetizer, an overcooked filet mignon, and an overcooked Creme Brule were unacceptable The restaurant was practically empty, with only 4 other tables beside us. Service was average, as our server kept over pouring our glasses of wine and took a long time to check on us. Plates also lacked presentation for a NYE "special meal." Just a terrible experience for a New Years occasion.More

Our group of 4 adults had dinner at the Park Avenue Tavern on 9/23. I ordered the lamb burger at $18 which came with a house salad. The bun was stale...the goat cheese smelled odd...the lamb patty was severely undercooked...the salad consisted of a few...leaves of iceberg lettuce and 4 cherry tomatoes... the waitress constantly interrupted our dinner conversation...the music was much too loud.More

Should have read the reviews. The place is cute and I like that it is not dark. The music was nice. The food on the other hand was not remarkable. Watermelon salad tasted only of onions - way to many onions. The burger ordered medium...was almost well done. The house chips were not special. Basically I barely ate salad. Maybe drink here but skip the food. The service was friendly. Some items are pricy.More

Horrible is being generous. We ordered the roasted chicken dinner and a grilled salmon dinner. The chicken was atrocious. We were served a tiny piece of rolled chicken in a stick with fast food style rice and beans. This was near $30. The salmon was...equally as bad - served with almost a black skin evidence of being cooked in old not fresh oil - also near $30.00. Perhaps drink here or have light appetizers but Do not eat here. Quality severely lacking. Truly awdul. Bring back Dexters or for Pete sakes hire a quality chef and quality product.More

I recently dined at the new Park Avenue Tavern in Winter Park and had a great experience! I have been to their sister location in Manhattan and was excited to learn that they were opening in Florida. The night we went the restaurant had such...a fun block party with a live band and offered their signature dishes such as the Fish & Chips and Park Burger - both were delicious! After the party was over my friends and I went inside to enjoy dinner and were blown away. Do not skip the Prosciutto Flatbread, House Chips, Roasted Chicken or Steak Frites - all incredible! If you're looking for some great cocktails, make sure to try the Passion Fruit Margarita and Purple Rain. I am so excited that this group has opened in Florida and am looking forward to more great experiences at Park Avenue Tavern!More

$16 for a hamburger that is not much bigger than a McDonald's quarter pounder and it doesn't come with fries ($7 more). $25 for fish and chips which is a small piece of fish and a bunch of chips. Don't go there if you want...to have a conversation with the people at your table unless you want to yell at them . . very loud. They should have just kept the Dexter's ambience vs. spending a bunch of money to change it. It was great neighbor bar / place to hang out, get a good meal (much better burger for $8) and listen to live music 4 or 5 nights a week. My wife and I ate at Linda's La Cantina last night and had two steak dinners for not much more than what we got at PAT's . Hopefully this is a one and done and someone will bring back something closer to the old Dexter's.More
