We drive Florida-New York- Florida twice a year and do our best to hit Darien before Skipper's closes. It's creative menu and fantastic food are worth a change in your itinerary. The setting is a lesson in commercial shrimping, too. This time I ordered two appetizers -- baked scallops wrapped in prosiutto and oysters Rockefeller with a side of fried... More

I had my first whole fried flounder at Skipper's. It was awesome. The collard greens are delish. Don't miss the amazing homemade onion rings. The setting is great in the delightful Scottish town of Darien. Great view on the water. Friendly staff, fast service. This was a great find on our day trip through the area...exploring on a rainy day.

We were sent here by our hotel clerk as being a great locally owned restaurant. We were very pleased. The location was very nice on the water although we ate inside. The staff was very pleasant. We had two great meals. I had the crab cakes, salad and sweet potato soufflé. Delicious! My husband had fried oysters. He said they... More

Overrated. Food was just average. The atmosphere was about like the name of the restaurant - a fish camp.

We had dinner there. I had the ribs and pork combo and my wife had crab cakes. The bbq was great and my wife enjoyed her crab cakes but stated that she wished she had ordered the bbq. We ordered their homemade onion rings for an appetizer and they were very good. Great food, service and atmosphere. It is located on... More

Skipper's came highly recommended to us and we were well-pleased with the choice. It is located near a marsh/backwater area which is home to an alligator, turtles and fish. The menu is filled with delicious-sounding dishes, I wound up getting fried sweet Georgia shrimp and friend oysters, both of which were wonderful. Servings were large and could easily be split... Had a great dinning experience here on a recent trip. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. I had shrimp and oysters, wife had the flounder. Both meals were fresh and cooked perfect.

It got a high rating in TA so we gave it a go, particularly as it was on the water front. It was nice, although short-staffed the day we arrived due to an unexpected large table. However, the waitstaff did rise to the occasion after repeatedly telling us how busy they were. The food was generous, fresh, and nicely prepared.... More

I ate lunch at Skipper's on a recent weekday. The lunch menu featured crab and Brunswick stew, shrimp, and fish. One of the unique menu items is a "Shrimp Boat": shrimp served on a baked potato. That's a first for me. I had the fresh catch sandwich. I was offered a choice between Grouper and Mahi-Mahi and chose the Mahi... More

I would give 5 🌟's, but the service is usually lacking... So, I just can't give 5. We don't complain about the lax-service because we love the location, the scenery, and the food. I recommend Skippers, but not if ur on a schedule or desire proper service... Yes, we always return... :-) 4 happy⭐️'s
