Excellent Liver and Bacon

Went to The Farrington Inn with friends, we all had the “Lunch Club”. My liver and bacon was very tasty and properly seasoned. My friends had steaks that were cooked exactly how they asked and ham, egg and chips that was also excellent. The desserts were delicious too Couldn’t fault it in anyway. Will make this a regular place to visit.

Super service, good food

Running late one evening, we rang ahead to ask if we could pre-order for arrival at "about 9pm". We could. When we arrived, it turned out they were out of a particular ingredient for one dish - so we were offered good alternatives and they were also happy to let me change the other order (having spotted a 'special' on the wall that wasn't on the online menu we'd used). Our revised order was more expensive but we weren't charged more. Our food (fish'n'chips, mushroom stroganoff) arrived promptly there after and was very good. The fish, in particular, was a very generous portion.

We were looking for a meal mid afternoon on a Saturday. And we were welcomed to a clean and tidy bar and garden in the Farringdon. Menu covered all kinds of tastes ond prices of food. Order and pay at bar with your table number. Food was served hot and quickly, table was cleared efficiently at end of meal. We had steak (rare) and all day breakfast both are recommended. Thank you, you fed two hungry travellers.

Very disappointed. Liver was so tough it wasn't eatable. There were long pieces of dried thyme stems that had to be pulled out of the gravy. The mash was bland. The peas like bullets. Shall I go on..... Meal was replaced by vegan meatballs but bit much better. Waitress service was poor. Our advice... pay a little more & GO ELSEWHERE.

The Liver and Bacon meal is one of our most popular meals on our 2 courses and a drink for £11.99 lunch club deal. I am glad the gentleman you were with enjoyed his Liver and Bacon but I understand it's served in a traditional slow cooked way so may not be for everybody. I am pleased the staff on offered you a different meal without a charge and feel that your service rating is a little unfair. I have passed the feedback on to the kitchen team so they can ensure that the quality is maintained for every customer, as the thyme stems should've been removed before being served. Disappointing

we booked a table for 9 of us on Sunday. We were informed they might not have any roasts left, which was ok. When we got there, asked if they had any roasts left and was told yes. Then when we ordered, we were told they had no roasts left. Then we went back and forward with the bar staff having to keep going to the kitchen to find what was left, as each time we ordered we got told certain items weren't available. When we finally sorted what was available, it then took so long to get the food. Then they forgot our desserts. During the two and half hours we were there, no one asked how our meal was or if anything was right or wrong. A very disappointing visit.

Called in on the off chance that they could squeeze us in for Sunday lunch, in fact they offered the whole menu which is rare for a Sunday. We enjoyed our meal and the food was out fairly prompt. They offer discounted meals if ordered 2 of the same (not all cases) which worked out extremely cheap. We will return

Reasonable meal but shockingly poor service

There were four of us in our party and we ordered the lunch deal which was a great value price. The meals were of reasonable size and acceptable for the price we paid and two of us had really lovely sticky toffee pudding which was lovely. However, the service was shocking. One member of our party had their meal brought out with no gravy and then had to wait some time for that to be sorted. We had to ask for the gravy, even though it was mentioned on the menu. Another member of our party had to wait for their meal to be replaced as the steak was much to over cooked when they asked for it to be cooked medium. Sadly, her replacement meal arrived when the other three of us had finished ours. Two of the fruit crumble deserts that we had to ask for (three times!!, were sent out cold). These were taken away and we’re then heated up. Such a shame, as this is a nice pub, but all the staff seem really inexperienced. We even had to ask for spoons to eat our deserts with. If we hadnt experienced any of these problems, I would say it would have been a good value for money lunch offer.

This place is shocking. Came with the family, ordered the farrington feast burger - it arrived red in the middle and cold. The fries tasted like they had flour all over and they left the coleslaw on the hot plate so it was this warm yellow/melted texture. My Father ordered the pork belly and the crackling was rock solid and the pork was so well done it was inedible. When the waitress came over to take the plates she said “was everything ok with your meals” we explained the situation and she just shyly said “sorry about that” and didn’t even report it to anyone. I mean what’s the point in asking if you don’t action complaints?! Just all in all was pretty grim. There are so many other lovely restaurants nearby and for the price of the drinks and the food here - you’re better off going elsewhere. To top it off as we walked out - one of the waitresses touched a customers dog and then went out into the kitchen as the bell rang without even washing her hands. Rank.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry that everything was not up to our usual standard. As you are aware, during your visit we refunded the meals that you weren't happy with and recooked replacements free of charge. To say we didn't action your complaint is not really fair. We are always open and honest with our customers if a mistake has been made and always aim to put things right. We are a dog friendly pub and we make the dogs feel as welcome as the human guests but we have a strict policy with regards to hygiene. The staff always wash their hands when entering the kitchen and we have a hand wash only sink just inside the door of the kitchen. Fantastic food

Popped into here for an early lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see such a huge menu choice. Husband chose the Farrington double cheeseburger with fries and homemade onion rings. I chode the Farrington ploughman's. It was huge, homemade scotch egg, pork pie, cheese, thick cut ham and a gorgeous salad with crusty bread pickle onions and pickle. There was so much on the plates I actually took some I had left home Will definitely be going back again. Thank you.

If you are coeliac, AVOID

Despite appearing on the "find me gluten free" app with a positive review, having many GF listed items and the bar staff asking if it is for coeliac reasons. The food caused huge upset and we would not recommend this place at all for those who are coeliac. Be warned.

Great food, great staff, very welcoming!

Great food, very welcoming staff, loved our dinner there. Lots of choice and the specials menu was great too. I’m gluten intolerant and there was plenty of options for me to choose from, it makes a change as usually I’m limited to one or two options when I eat out. The dessert menu looked great too but the mains were so big we didn’t have room! Between the three of us we had steak and ale pie, BBQ ranch chicken and cod and chips, all were very tasty. Well recommended.

Called on way home to Yeovil for evening meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful Food was lovely. Home made tartar sauce for scampi was delicious and my salmon in lemon sauce was great. It was very good value for money and a nice surprise find Thank you

Lovely Village Pub

Went for lunch with friends this week, and were very impressed with the reasonably priced menu, and the quality of the food served to us. Portions were large and well cooked. Staff were extremely friendly and obliging. Toilets were spotless. Nice garden with some shelter to sit under if the weather is good, or even if it's bad. Will definitely visit again soon.

Sunday lunch disappointment...

We met friends for lunch and we all had Sunday roasts. Roast chicken average, roast beef was stringy, gristly and inedible. Had to ask for more gravy which was thin and watery. Good quantity of food on plate but poor quality. Sticky toffee pudding was very good and well presented but could have been hotter.

Excellent food and Excellent Staff💖

Today was our second visit for food and was just as good as the first. Easy parking when not too busy, great outside for kids. Our service was second to none and the staff are very friendly. The menu choice was excellent with a two for a set price on a variety of tasty food. I will definitely recommend friends and family to visit here especially for the very filling all day breakfast 👍🏻👍🏻❤️. Big thank you to The Farrington Inn for a great visit.
