Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Town 220 is an outstanding fine restaurant located in downtown Madison GA. The ambiance is great. Restaurant is located in an old cotton gin with very tall ceiling. The menu is exceptional. If traveling near Madison definitely dine at Town 220.

Our family of 4 adults and 2 kids enjoyed a return visit to this excellent restaurant. The restaurant is in a very neat area of Madison and is really a fine restaurant. Our server, Emily, was excellent. We had very good apps of calamari and...steak bites and they were excellent. The wine list is excellent and well rounded. I had a bowl of French onion soup which was very good. A pomegranate duck was superb for those who ordered it along with another who had a great steak. A snapper special was also very good, and my shrimp and grits was good, but not exceptional. The grits were just ok. We split a mud pie and a bourbon bread pudding and they were superb. Overall, this is a 5 star restaurant and we look forward to returning.More

We were served by the friendly and efficient Ada, also a student at UGA. She took us through some great dishes, including escargot, a fabulous filet, and cioppino. We topped the evening off with chocolate martinis. The service works with machine-like efficiency as a runner...makes sure every dish is hot upon arrival. The menu is great; hard to make choices, particularly among the appetizers.More

What a great anniversary dinner! We had the filet mignon and the NY Strip and both were so good. I grew up on a farm eating beef several times a week and this was one of the top steaks that I have had in my...life. Our waitress was Emily and she made us feel special, so kind and attentive. We will return to this great restaurant!More

Have dined here a few times but this time was for a private event. The separate room was cozy and inviting with excellent attention to service. Everything was delicious from the ceasar salad to the pork chop which was juicy and cooked perfectly. The highlight...was the creme brulee which I've had many places but this one was fantastic. Great get away weekend idea with the charming town, shops, spa, restaurant & hotel all within walking distance.More

My husband and I Thoroughly enjoyed our Delicious dinner. Large Portions. We had Shrimp & Grits and Roasted Pork Chop. I was sad that I didn't have room for the Bread Pudding.

What a wonderful night with friends! The cocktails were perfect, the appetizers as well. Escargot and Salmon Carpaccio were divine! Our entrees were perfection, rack of lamb and grouper, followed by a taste of their crème brûlée ….an absolutely perfect meal, perfect ambience and our...server as well. Clay did an amazing job. He was accommodating without being overbearing, very attentive and a true pleasure to have as a server.More

We met friends for dinner here while staying at the James Madison Inn. It took 3 tries to get wine order straight, but the meal was delicious and an abundant serving. The flourless chocolate cake was to die for, especially as I am gluten intolerant....The prices were high and there are no substitutions allowed. We would go back!More

We had dinner for my birthday on our first visit to Madison, GA. What a great experience. This restaurant was the perfect blend of upscale and casual. The servers were very attentive and the meals we had were among the best we have ever had....The Salmon Carpaccio appetizer was incredible as were the Filet Mignon with Horseradish and Blue Cheese Crust, and the Cioppino. We ended the meal with Jack Daniels Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. One of the finest meals we have had. Wine list and special cocktails was impressive. If you are in Madison GA, this should be at the top our your list for dinner.More
