We traveled to Callaway Gardens for the Christmas Fantasy in Lights spectacular (2016 is its 25th anniversary). Following the advice of a couple of people, we did not eat in our hotel, but traveled a mile or so down the road to Country Kitchen. Great home/country menu. We shared the club sandwich (tasty) and a side salad. The real star... More

We ended up eating here twice during our trip to Callaway Gardens. It's convenient, just right up the road. It reminds me of a Cracker Barrel. Very clean. Extremely friendly staff! They went above to make sure we had everything we needed! We ate here during the week, during the off season and it wasn't crowded at all.

Loved the fresh biscuits and Muscadine jam! The vegetable soup was very good . Perhaps the best time of the day to come would be 2:00 in the afternoon as there were not too many people there at that time.. We loved the sweet tea and enjoyed the Reuben sandwich . It was big enough to take half of it... More

The food and atmosphere was great if you like country cooking, which we all do. I am a vegetarian and they had a lot of options for me.

Absolutely terrible food, they have no idea how to cook southern food. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Slow service as well.

First, the server we had was very friendly. The greeter was not thrilled about being there for sure. Been here many times several years ago and took my elderly mom back for old times sake. We live in Georgia and know good Southern food. Muscadine preserves delicious. Chicken fingers and fried okra tasted like they had been sitting for awhile.... More

Been dining here since 2003 whenever I visit the Gardens. Good menu selection and the food doesn't disappoint.

Description
Tucked inside the Callaway Gardens Country Store(R), where picture windows reveal a breathtaking ridgetop view, the Country Kitchen specializes in down-home Southern dishes with a creative flair. Start your day with a heaping plate of smoked pork and eggs benedict, or enjoy a fried-chicken-and-vegetable combo for lunch or dinner - washed down, of course, with an ice-cold serving of sweet tea right out of a mason jar. Whatever you fancy, your taste buds are sure to be tickled at this Callaway Gardens institution. Meals are not served between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. as the kitchen switches the line from breakfast to lunch/dinner.
