While we are a family of 2 kids, we were always trying to find the best possible homemade cooked food during our vacation. Hopefully, during our visit at Lafkos village, we had one of our best experiences at Pelion and Greece in general! The atmosphere...at the village plaza was great and our boys had the space to play around us. The food was way above our expectations... Imagine that I tried the best mushroom pie I ever tasted, traditional "Spetzofai" and "Revithada" (traditional dish with baked chickpeas) and I caught myself eating only the chickpeas, while I don't usually eat them :P A must-try tavern in Greece! P.S.: the best we found so far was at Agios Lavrentios Village (Mt. Pelion), which is called "O Lotos tavern"More

We loved this place. An authentic taverna in a village square up in the hills. Service was friendly and the home cooked dishes were really good - chickpeas, meatballs, moussaka. Nice laid back atmosphere too. Will definitely go back again.

Placed on the beautiful Lafkos square, Drosia is a promising Greek restaurant. I ordered some starters like green salad and cheese dip (tirokafteri) and their specialty, revithada (chickpeas in the oven with tomato and onions). It was the most tasteful chickpeas I've ever had, still...the best meal I had on my Pelion roadtrip. The meal was finished with great fresh fruits. I will definitely visit it again.More

Typical center square tavern with Greek cuisine at cheap prices and friendly service. The square is lovely (apart from the noisy church bells). Ask for the day's menu as this varies and prefer the "ladera" for a unique Greek experience. The most affordable dinner we...had in south Pelion and much more enjoyable than the overpriced (usually) seafront taverns. Two mains, four three starters, salad and tsipuro with coffees and fruits paid 35 euros. Def coming back!!More

We have visited this taverna many times over many years and it is one of the best. The owner and her family have become good friends. Katherine never lets us down, the food is wonderful and Katerina a superb cook. There is always a wide...range of food available, but as in all Greek restaurants it is best to see what is recommended by the staff and what is the best! There is is always a good range of drinks available, but we learnt many years ago that a few glasses of tsipouro always goes down well as a 'digestif'. Unless it is raining, it is best to eat in the square adjacent where there are many tables. The atmosphere is unfailingly attractive, many tourists as well as local inhabitants eating here. Children run around in the square nearby, but are far enough away not to be a nuisance.More

Located on a lovely square full of plane trees this restaurant is famous for its homemade Greek food. So we omitted the tempting roasted meat option s and chose typical Greek dishes. For starter, apart from the Greek salad, we ordered revithada (chickpeas roasted in...the oven with olive oil, pepper, thin slices of onion\tomatoes\green peppers and herbs) a really wonderful taste, try it by all means. First main was one of the hallmarks of Greek cuisine, "gemistά" (tomatoes and green peppers stuffed with rice, crushed tomatoes and herbs). It was perfectly cooked and I suggest that you should try it too. The second main was "papoutsakia" (long eggplants sliced in half, stuffed with spiced minced beef and topped with bechamel sauce). It was also great in taste although the topping was somehow less tasty than expected. Service was good. Prices were slightly higher than expected but at least the quality was very good. Tip: enjoy "gemistά" with the Greek way: match it with feta cheese.More

We just love the old style greek tavernas with the owners or waiters literally dragging you into the kitchen for you to chose what you fancy from many prepared dishes of which drosia is a classic example, the taverna is the first one you come...to on the right down from the church in the beautiful main square of lafkos. On offer when we called were several different selections including pork in honey sauce, chicken in the oven, local sausage in the oven done with peppers and tomatoes, stuffed tomatoes, courgette pies, giant beans with tomatoes, moussaka, rabbit stew etc and all of which looked so delicious, after much deliberation we chose the pork and the sausage plus a lovely green salad with a difference which included chopped dried fruits and various nuts with a dressing (my wife said she could have had it for main course)! and, of course the lovely hand cut chips. The meals were just so tasty and filling, after the meal we were given a large dish of cantaloupe melon which finished off the meal perfectly, the bill came to the princely sum of 29euros including wine, bread & water, an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.More

Stuffed peppers were really nice but the aubergines with a meat stuffing were on the heavy side regarding greasiness. Both portions plus the boiled greens salad were small. So I can't give this place a highest score but it might worth a visit as I...have been here once more in the past and I was more satisfied.More
