Thank you Waine and all staff, Sorry for belated thanks. Christmas is over now...  I just wanted to say thank you again for making my parents special Diamond Anniversary lunch such a seamless successful event. The "Dog House" proved to be the perfect size for...us and gave us privacy and the protection above all. This was a big deal for my mum.  The food was hot, served together and there was plenty of it 😋 roasts especially. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Your staff in particular Chloe was very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble.  I would definitely recommend you to any friends locally.  We hope you all have a Happy and improved 2022 !More

I held my 40th birthday party at The Dog and Duck on Sat 6th Nov. From start to finish Waine helped organise the event and answered all questions I had regarding set up and what to expect. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the party...and my friends and family remarked on how attentive they were! What more can I say... well a lot actually... The food was delicious and very well presented. Lots of options for vegetarians and if we had any other dietary requirements we just needed to ask! The tab I set up behind the bar was managed perfectly and fun was had by all! I could keep going about what a great time was had and how great Waine and his team were but I'm sure you get the idea by now. We were lucky it was a dry crisp day so the patio doors were left open and the children were in and out using all the outdoor play equipment meaning the adults could chat and mingle. If you're in need of a great venue and helpful staff for your occasion, look no further! We loved it so much we've booked to have our family Christmas dinner there!More

We chose this pub for our party because of the great the outside space and exclusive use of the function room, but it exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to Donna, Leanne and the team for providing such a great venue. Everything went perfectly. They had...great patience in answering all my questions promptly that I bombarded them with, the food was great, and so was the service and the facilities - we used the smart TV to cast our family videos and pictures to. We were able to come early to set up balloons and centrepieces (mirror discs from Ebay, vases from The Range, and flowers & serviettes from ASDA), and music. We opted for the buffet which had a wide choice of hot and cold to choose from, plus a hot dish - the food looks home made because it is, and tastes great. There is a toilet accessible from within the room, and doors to the decking which they reserved for our use only. They had another function going on in the Field but this did not affect service, and it was great that the children were never out of our sight in the playground.More

Well what can I say other than thank you!!! I hired two rooms for my husbands surprise party and it was absolutely perfect! From beginning to end the staff were fantastic and so so helpful! The rooms were clean and inviting, and the prosecco was...all laid out for our arrival as we had agreed! I ordered food there and it arrived quickly and tasted delicious! There were no complaints from he other 40 guests either! I will 100% be returning! The children all had an absolute blast aswell in the huge play area out the back and on the go karts! What a wonderful venue for an occasion like this! Really happy customer, thank you xMore

This was the first time visiting this pub. I wasn’t greeted by anyone. The owners was in the pub and didn’t even say hello… I thought it was a bit pricey. And the pizzas aren’t the best very very very tomato the coke was flat.... I won’t be returning.More

We had booked for a special occasion and couldn't have been more disappointed. The roast dinners were dreadful . The beef was impossible to cut let alone chew, potatoes rock hard as no doubt been sitting keeping warm all day, green beans inedible, hard broccoli,...one slice of overcooked carrot and dry hard Yorkshire. Everyone tried to eat a little to be polite but all agreed it was very bad and left most of it uneaten. Nobody came to out table to ask if our meals were ok so I went to speak to the lady at the bar. Her response was nobody else has complained. My father asked to speak to the chef but she refused to come out! We were offered a free dessert which for £6.50 was also disappointing. Eton mess was strawberry less! This cost me a lot of money and at the very least they should have refunded the cost of the inedible meals. Avoid.More
