Do you like that small hometown feel and good old fashion cooking? We love these little cafes with attitude and great people. We have been there twice and they made us feel like locals :-) If we move nearby we will be regulars there! Breakfast and lunch kind of place... frustrating...they have hilarious placards and signs all over. Tried to... More

I have visited this restaurant twice, once for lunch and most recently for breakfast. On both occasions I found the food to be average in taste and quality. I suspect the popularity of the restaurant is due to the large portions served and the nostalgia of an old time diner. The hot cakes were unremarkable and the price for a... More

The food here is ridiculous in a good way. The menu highlights the customer favorites and I opted to go with a half order of the moondog biscuits and gravy while my husband got the redneck benedict. My half order wasn't all that much smaller than his full order and I did my best to dig my way through it,... More

I have lived in the same town as this restaurant for almost 20 years... I've always heard about how they have excellent food and huge servings... Well that's about half right... Serving sizes are fairly large, and although I've tried to like the food, I have always found it very, very disgusting... I've never been able to finish once... Not... More

Tired of the trendy restaurants? Want a good old fashioned breakfast? Eggs cooked the way you order them, great hash browns and man size portions.

Not big, not fancy but for a taste of local and great food this is a little gem as any local will tell you. Don't expect much in ambience as classy it is not but portion size and food quality trumps the rest.

Though it is a hole in the wall so to speak and easily dismissed because of its size and its innocuous appearance there is nothing lacking in its food or service. The staff is friendly and the portions are generous. Don't be fooled by either its exterior or interior appearance. Bring your apetight for good country cooking.

We moved to north Idaho a few months ago and had several people recommend the Hoot Owl for breakfast. Gave it a try, then gave it another try. Fantastic! Don't expect frills and ambiance - this place is about food (lots of it) and friendly service. There's enough going on with the eclectic decor to keep you occupied while you... More
