Thanks for your review. The dish you described is yellow because it was Brie not Stilton as per the board. We have served our pie like that for 17 years consistently and our best seller. Short crust is fine but just goes soggy with the...More

Be prepared for a leisurely meal. This is not fast food and is the better for it. Good beer well poured and the sea bass was particularly well cooked and tasty. Good sized portions. Some may call it a small range of main meals, but...More

We stopped off for an impromptu lunch and were warmly welcomed by a smiling barman. We sat outside... on such a glorious day it would be a shame not to in such a pretty garden... inside is lovely too. We enjoyed a delicious roast beef...More

This is a very busy country pub. Staff accommodating but rushed off their feet. The food was good the vegetable harder than al dente but edible. Starter ans sweet selection good. Has a large car park and large garden. Beer and spirit selection good.

In brief, we were welcomed and served at the bar nicely and quickly, the menu looked nice and traditional for a Sunday lunch. Unfortunately once we'd ordered it all started to fall apart. The service was terrible, once we'd finished our starters the waiter asked...More

Thanks for your review. With two staff ringing in sick on Sunday as you suggest we struggled to meet with demand. A lot of non booked tables and people telling us fibs. That is another story. The young man works in the kitchen normally and...More

Have been several times to the Stag and it’s always been good. The staff are very attentive and the food is good and well priced. There’s a reasonable range of beers.
