I've been going here forever and love the hot dogs and burgers; but you can't beat the Italian beef...nothing compares! Thats my recommendation with hot peppers and medium dipping. Portillo family recently sold their chain for a half billion dollars after starting it from a push cart in the 60's. I was worried the corporation that bought them would not... More

This is such a great place to visit in Chicago area. We love the combo Italian beef/sausage and Chicago style dogs the best. So, so good!

My favorite food here is the cheese fries. They are sooooo darn good. The drive thru is always packed but the service is fast. However, if you go inside, it's a whole other experience (fun & busy). I'll recommend the chicken Caesar salad, chopped salad, burger (well done), crispy chicken sandwich, and the Chicago style dog. Honestly, any and everything... More

Best Italian beef and Chicago dogs anywhere, a must stop. Make sure to order your Italian beef "wet".

They are known for hot dogs, but I LOVE their Italian beef: juicy, tender, thinly sliced with sweet green peppers and fries.....A FEAST! They also sell cold beer.

This is the place to go in order to be able to tell the people back home you at a real deal Chicago hot dog. Well, OK, Wrigley Field is probably better, but this is a darn fine option. Stepping in you're in a kind of food court with a strange diorama of Jazz Age Chicago mounted above. Broads and... More

Busy place, a bit "touristy" overall a must stop on any visit to Chicago. Food is authentic and delicious. Very casual environment. Order and pick up windows, grab a seat and chow down.

Whether its the Chicago favorite "Italian Beef" sandwich ("dipped sweet" for you touists), a burger, or the dogs that made Portillo's famous, you cannot have a bad meal. This location is in a very tourist-friendly area and gets very busy/crowded on weekends.

The Italian Beef was delicious, tamale and fries very good. Halibut was cooked a little longer than I like but still good I would prefer grilled but priced right and we enjoyed

Thank 1pear
