My first visit to Everest was some years ago, however it was a business dinner, with some intense discussion. My memories of that visit were of excellent food, and great, but almost invisible service – I never even noticed the view, just a few yards from our table. My second visit was unfortunately solo, as my wife had another dinner... More

We were in Chicago to visit museums and hear an opera at the Lyric theater. Dinner at the Everest was a high point (pun?) of our three days. The setting is sophisticated and subdued, not at all overlooking a long drop down. We had enjoyed cocktails with a friend before so we were a little out of sync with the... More

Everest has a very intimate feel and great views of the city if you have a table by the windows. The environment makes for a very romantic evening and the staff thoughtfully curates a most enjoyable dining event. The wine list is broad, deep, and reasonably priced. The selection of German wines is the largest I have seen in an... More

Everest is one of our favorite resturants in the country. We were celebrating several occassions by spendingh the weekend in Chicago and had reservation at Everest on Friday night. I called the day before to confirm our reservation and inform them of our celebration. When we arrived we were seated at a table in front of a window looking out... More

In Chicago Stock Exchange building on the 40th flr. Used Open Table reservation & asked for window/view. There are only 4 tables along the window. Wasn't informed we would not be seated at window. $75 cancellation charge with 48 hours of reservation time. Waitstaff very good. Jennifer the manager is very hands on. A Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. Overpriced in... More

Everest offers a fine French classic dining experience in a luxurious setting. The restaurant is on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange building and offers lovely views of the Chicago landscape from large windows. Not every table has great views but the room without a view is even more attractive than the room with a view probably to... More

High level French cuisine, and high level service. Which is the less we can expect considering the price level. The food is wonderful. The wine list is also impressive. I recommend this place for special occasions. It will be a memorable event.

For those concerned about the timing of food and how long it took for dinner, please note, this is French dining...if you are expecting to be in and out in an hour, go to Outback or Red Lobster. If you want to savor and enjoy French fine dining with fantastic service, then this is the place. We went on a... More

I've been to many Michelin-rated restaurants in my life. I don't mind paying for top quality - but then I expect to receive it. Everest failed to deliver, starting with the really crummy table location. I could even forgive that - but the service was as poor as the table location. Inattentive staff had a bad case of the "slows".... More

Traditional with elegance and formality in style and service but the food is much more approachable. I would have liked to have seen a little more relaxed formality but a two star Michelin status likely prevents it. Our particular server however was quite pleasant and interactive which was a relief. The sea bass in lyonnaise broth was outstanding as was... More
