Waited 20 min around 8am. Chicago and Dutch style breakfast food. Large portions on waffles and pancakes. Found hair on my egg florentine. Coffee was cols. Service was very good/fast kitchen. Would not go back.

Went here out of the blue while visiting in Chicago. Was recommended by a friend. I got biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon and loved it! My mom got some delicious crepes on the senior menu. We would totally come back here again. Wasn't fancy, but service and food was amazing.

First visit here and I have to say the food was satisfying. I had the vegetarian skillet with pancakes. The pancakes were so good with the hot syrup and butter. Great place for a great breakfast.

I got acquainted with Original Pancake House when attending the University of Illinois in Champaign. A bunch of my fraternity brothers and I would hang out there during final exams. Later, my wife and I would stop for breakfast whenever we passed an Original Pancake House on our travels from coast to coast, from Chicago to Florida. Now we make... More

How different can a pancake or breakfast be? Well you mus visit this place to find out. Truly amazing and unique this place will be delightful. The short line to get in was worth it. Visited the place with my wife while on a trip and we had apple pankcakes and crepes. The apple pancake is a must so try... More

This is part of a chain. The food is always excellent and this location is charming, but small. Service is prompt and friendly. It's a nice place to be on a dreary Saturday.

I've been eating here my whole life. It's definitely an "old school" style place, very casual, service is typically warm and friendly. Lots of locals. I always go for either the 49 Flapjack pancakes (so delicious and gooey) with a side of chicken sausage or canadian bacon...or their HUGE, fluffy omelettes. I love the egg white ones the best...and they... More

We waited in line for 30 minutes for a table in this quaint, vintage restaurant - it was time well spent! The menu, anchored by a plethora of pancake options, is vast and offers just about anything you could want for breakfast. The portions are extremely generous. The pancakes live up to the hype - we tried all types of... More

Awesome little place for breakfast, great food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Despite being busy, wait was less than 15 minutes to be seated and food arrived in good time. Great coffee too. Would go back again next time we are in Chicago.

As the restaurant was beside our hotel we opted to have breakfast here three times over 10 days. The line moves quickly and it's worth the wait! I'd advise you bring a large appetite as the portions are huge; everything we tried was really good (pancakes/waffles/house speciality (baked apple pancake) which takes time to bake), the staff are expert in... Staying in Gold Coast

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
