I was recommended this pub by someone while my wife and I were visiting Chicago. I wanted to go to a real Irish establishment. The place was great. When you go to a place like this, food may be on your mind but it's the atmosphere that is the real food. We ate outside with lights all around. An Irish... More

On our never-ending quest to discover all of the truly authentic Irish pubs in the Chicago area, my wife and I have determined that the definition of an authentic Irish pub is a pint of Guinness, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, Shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, beef stew, Celtic music and Premier League soccer. Galway Arms, located in... More

We have gone to Galway Arms twice to celebrate Irish New Year's. This occurs at 6 o'clock Chicago time. They do a countdown and give out free champagne. Super cute. We have also been here for St. Patrick's Day (or "Parade Day") and sat out on the patio. It's a great Irish pub. It's beautifully decorated and they have a... More

Was heading to zoo lights but thought we'd walk the area to grab a drink! We liked how this place looked so we gave it a try. And we were so happy we did! Inside the place is beautiful!! Very stunning! We sat by a fireplace and it was so warm and so cozy on a very cold day. The... More

Doing research for our trip, I had read about the Galway Arms and thought it may be a great place to stay provided it wasnt smokey with heavy drinkers as some pubs can be. We had just come from the Zoolights and found a beautiful spot near a fire, the room was warm, with typical Irish decor and very cosy.... More

i saw this place on some social media site so decided to try it out after we were at the Lincoln park zoo. I didn't realize that Lincoln park was an entire area so we had a bit of a walk from the zoo to the pub. we opted to eat outside but I checked out the décor inside and... More

After dinner next door, we sat out on this street side raised patio to enjoy drinks and conversation. Have been inside before with its its dark wood old world feel. Great gathering place on a Saturday night.

This is a fun place to watch a soccer game for sure. The food was tasty, fresh and plentiful. Twenty two ounce beers were a fair price by Chicago standards and so were the entrees. The service could have been better, but I loved the old world décor and atmosphere.

I came here with a bunch of work friends for drinks and apps after a work event down town and we had a great time. The quesadillas were really good! The curry fries weren't as good as I thought they would be. I had a Moscow mule too, it was strong! Disappointed it wasn't in a copper cup, but oh... More

excellent selection of beer/ale. If you sit on the patio on a nice day it really makes the food better. Typical bar food but very good atmosphere. I'm a big pub fan so if you're a little snobby on the food side this probably isn't the place for you. Grab a beer and you'll enjoy that.
