Set in the old Esquire Theatre, the interior of Del Friscos is impressive...the high ceilings & contemporary chandeliers are fantastic. Unfortunately, the good qualities stop there. A group of 4 of us had dinner there at 7:45p on a Saturday night. I was the only one in the group who had not dined there before. The restaurant looked to be... More

With all the great restaurants in Chicago, especially steakhouses, this is a definite pass. $140 for over salted filet, strip and mushrooms. Crab cake was nothing special and wedge salad overdressed. Not even bread was worth the calories. Room is beautiful. Tables by the window have nice views.

I picked this restaurant during the middle of the week (2/1/2017) during Chicago restaurant week - when restaurants are supposed to put forward an extra effort to showcase their food. First, the restaurant was at about 25% capacity. The venue itself - BEAUTIFUL The quality of the food - OUTSTANDING The service - HORRIBLE. The dinner ordered was listed as... More

In a big city like NY there are a lot of good restaurants, but not many can handle a super busy dining sitting like Del Frisco's. Courteous and friendly staff ensures that everyone enjoys a great dining experience. Highly recommended.

Went with the family on our annual weekend trip into the city... Very familiar with this restaurant from our experienced in Dallas, Denver and Sullivan's in Naperville. This didn't disappoint.. Service excellent, ambience nice... The food was great... Just something was missing.. Would return... We love that.

This must be what it felt like to go out for dinner during the Gilded Age. Del Friscos Double Eagle Steakhouse is an opulently outfitted chain restaurant specializing in prime steaks and seafood with a selection of over 1,200 fine wines. It occupies three floors of the historic Esquire Theater at 58 East Oak Street on Chicago's Gold Coast. It... More

We made reservations with another couple and were seated quickly upon arrival. Our server was very friendly at first. I'm assuming not a lot of food gets sent back, but I sent my filet back. I ordered it Medium Well, and when I cut into it it was bleeding rare. When it finally came, the only thing that changed was... More

Took my 97 year old grandma here for her birthday. I was the first time to the city in 5 years. She loves being downtown but at her age, can't make it there. Anyway, for her birthday, we had to go to the best steakhouse in the city and Del Frisco lived up to the bill.

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
