My brother arranged to have a post memorial meal at the Gage with several out of town guests. We were a party of 11 and had the worst table in the house. Our table was put together in an aisle, those seated on the aisle were constantly being brushed by wait staff and patrons. The food was good but not... More

As everything else was okay. There is much better food in Chicago and would only go back for the burger that others got and raved about.

Arrived early, with a reservation, for a pre-theater dinner, and the place was packed. Lots of familiar, tasty, food served promptly. You won't be on a culinary adventure here, but you will have a good time, and you will get to your show or concert on time. The moderate noise level adds to the atmosphere.

The Gage is a loud happening place. Getting a booth permitted appropriate business conversation in a fun atmosphere with excellent wine choices and good to great food. The mussels appetizer exceeded expectations in taste and quantity.

Reservations a must, comfortable setting, rowdy after work crowd in the bar, wonderful service, menu had exciting offerings, delicious wine list. Kids were a bit challenged to find anything to eat other than a burger, but the adults enjoyed every bite. Kids did love the fondue starter though. Only a block or two from Private Bank Theater.

We stopped in for lunch after a morning at the art institute. Long wait for a table, since we did not have a reservation, so we ate at the bar. This was a good choice, as the bartender was great at recommending new beers for us to try. For food, I had the burger and my husband had the fish... More

Great place Sunday Brunch. Nice selection of a little more unusual foods. Good drinks, attentive service. Just a little louder than expected but a highly recommended place. We'll come back for dinner sometime.

Pleasantly surprised. Thought this was a tourist trap restaurant, but was wrong. Great food, good wine, vibrant bar scene. We got worried that it was very noisy restaurant when we first walked in, but the hostess took us in the back to a very pleasant separate room. Great dining experience.

Very cool atmosphere if you like old and charming. Great service. Menu was well rounded. Had the Ahi Tuna special that day, waitress said it was fresh caught Hawaii Albacore, but I think she meant Ahi. Cooked to perfection. My party enjoyed the Venison Burger, which is a popular favorite. Jambalaya and Mussels were also enjoyed. Reservations recommended. Walking distance... More

The restaurant was celebrating Valentine day with a special menu but you could order any combination of dishes you'd like from the regular or the special menu. The food was delicious, servings rich and wine very nice. The staff attentive and knowledgeable, filling up the water glasses promptly and changing our plates. Our recommendations !
