We came with a group of 7 girls. The service and food was great! Our server was able to provide some great food and wine reservations based on what we told him we liked. The chef, John, came out and said hello to us and cooked and AMAZING dinner and then overall meal. The food had such vibrant flavors within... More

A couples wine group of 8 went to Bistro Bordeaux for our holiday dinner. We found the wine list interesting and reasonably priced. My husband and I had been there before but the other 6 hadn't been to the restaurant before. Everyone was impressed by the food and the service. Their was a slight disappointment in the cassoulet but all... More

First was the 35 min wait for our 8PM "reservation", it was all downhill after that. The cassoulet had next to no meat in it, no nice sausages on top, just beans and sauce. We really should have sent it back. My Coq au vin consisted of two tiny scrawny overly dry legs and no thigh as listed in the... More

Really outstanding, and everything you want in a French bistro. Our server, Bill, was terrific and the room was beautifully lit by candlelight for the holidays. Soups, salads and mains were delivered at a nice pace and the whole evening was relaxing and deeply satisfying. I've read a few negative reviews about the pace of the courses... to which I'd... We had a wonderful dinner at Bistro Bordeaux. We ordered the coq au vin with creme brulee for dessert. Both were delicious. In fact, the creme brulee may have been the best I have had...anywhere...in 50 years. However, this is not a fine French restaurant in the tradition of Chicago's fine French restaurants. In fact, sadly, they barely exist anymore.... More

We visited for the first time with friends on Christmas Eve. We would consider this restaurant a bit pricey for an average night out, but great for a special outing. Our service was excellent and the food was superb. We recommend the charcuterie plate, the steak and creme brulee. Our waiter was helpful in selecting a wine we would like.... More

Visited for the first time and the experience was tres enjoyable. Somehow, they've been able to create a Parisian atmosphere right as you walk in the door. The staff are genial and accommodating ( ok that's not so French ) and our waiter even spoke French. We ordered some of the classic dishes; moules aux frites, cassoulet, charcuterie; all were... Dinner tonight, maybe 6th or 7th time over several years. I wished I was as satisfied as in past. Service excellent! Truly excellent. But salad endive good but a bit bland except for Roquefort. Then trout which was well prepared but overly drenched. Beans terrifically crisp but other accompaniments over-cooked. Taste of trout good but overwhelmed by bitter capers (which... More

Just enjoyed a delicious meal here with friends. House salad was great although I had salad envy when my friend's endive salad arrived for her! Fish was light and delicious. The owner came over to offer wine suggestions which was very much appreciated. We finished our meal with a decadent chocolate dessert. Highly recommend!
