When we fly east it's always a challenge to find an open restaurant late at night. Well, Evanston is a college town - but even so, this is a great late night spot - I think they close at 2 or 3 am. On a cold night - wonderful pea soup and Guinness beer! Great bar and pub food.

The back room here, while small, has a nice atmosphere for a small party. Food is OK, basically pub food, and the bar is nothing special, but they do good hors d'oeuvres for parties, and the service is excellent.

When I live din Evanston I never went here. My bad. Since moving away I return periodically and Celtic Know is a friendly bar and restaurant that makes you feel comfortable. My fav is the Irish breakfast (eggs, black & white pudding, bangers, rashers, beans). I am a sucker for this dish. They do it well. I always sit at... More

We remember the place opening so we popped back to see how they're doing. They're thriving! Food is good reliable standard Irish fare, but the corned beef and fish and chips are worthy of mention as exceptional.

If you've ever been to Evanston, you know most places close up by 10 (and stop serving food at 9). We were at a bar and they stopped pouring at 10. Suggested we walk to the Celtic Knot (good suggestion). If you're looking for a late night place for some food (the late night menu is mostly bar food but... More

The food is consistently good, and a nice variety. My partner loves the variety of meaty meals. And the beer selection is good (from what I'm told -- I don't drink beer). The fish and chips are good - that is my usual selection, or a burger. The wine selection is decent but could be a bit more interesting.

Great, authentic, Irish pub, drink and food. You will not be disappointed. I will come back when in the Chicago area. Don't miss this one. Would post a photo of the fish and chips but I ate them to fast.

My daughter chose the Celtic Knot for her rehearsal dinner. We reserved a private back room that accomodated 30 people and hired a small Irish band. It was a blast! Oh, and the food is excellent too! We will be back!

The fries are perfect. Let's start there. The pickles on the side are perfect as well. I had the Irish blt both times, bacon was exceptional, bread fresh and crisp, and did I mention the fries? Not too loud, lots of seating, attentive and mannerly barkeep. Party of six the first time; two nights later we decided the simplest solution... More

Have been visiting Evanston for the last 15 years, with my 2 sons in Northwestern, now living in Chicago. Always search out Irish pubs, due to my ethnicity. Have to say I have only been here for lunch, not for dinner, and never for a wild time watching Celtic football, so take all that in consideration.....Have visited authentic pubs in... More
