We tried Hearth after an Evanston resident recommended it, and found it to be excellent! We were a bit apprehensive at first because the menu was not particularly extensive. But there was quite a variety between the small plates and large plates, and sides as well. I had two small plates and along with one side, it was more than... More

Hearth is off the beaten path of downtown Evanston, but absolutely worth exploring. The price point is much lower than I expected for the quality of the food. The duck jambalaya, scallops, and crab cake were outstanding. My friend ordered the burger and said it was one of the best burgers she's ever had. The drinks were incredible as well.... More

This was our first visit but definitely not our last. We always look for quiet restaurants so that conversation is enjoyable. This room is perfect. The food was outstanding. The avocado fries are delicious and shareable. I had the loup de mer which was beautifully plated and delectable. The chef came to our table to ask if we were satisfied... More

Our first time to Heart, though we had been to the location in its past incarnations (Cafe Provencal, Trio, Quince) Decor is welcoming and slightly rustic. Service was excellent. Attentive, friendly and most important they listened. Food was not what we expected. It was OK, but disappointing. Menu changes so our experience only reflects what we had. U had a... More

Great location in the Homestead! Enjoyed the simple elegance, friendly service and amazing Barramundi and roasted cauliflower. Special treat to sit in front of the fireplace while dining. Definitely a jewel! The macadamia crusted grouper and Brussel sprouts were also high on my list! My only negative is portions could be about 50% bigger.

The food is excellent..... Wonderful..... Try it and you will not be disappointed....Went for Bunch, the pumpkin pancakes were to die for, their dessert tray was a delight with melted chocolate being hand poured over the peanut butter mouse . Chicken Sausage and chicken with waffles were also great , per the rest of my dining party.... Go...have fun...

This is a hidden gem near Northwestern's campus. We had a wonderful brunch and Excellent service by Katherine and others. A very nice atmosphere with good music and a fireplace. Menu is creative. We had a complimentary scone and the hearts of palm omelette, crab cake benedict and chilaquiles which as like an egg tortilla. All were delicious. We highly... More

I've been to many restaurants in this location but Hearth is among the best. The main dining room is quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed several of the small plates like the avocado fries and the tuna poke as well as the several of the entrees. The beef tenderloin was served in a mushroom cream sauce over garlicky spätzle. Good service... More

We ordered carrot soup, cerviche, pork shoulder and chicken. All were excellent. Several main dishes come in half portions which suited one member of our party's appetite perfectly. Service was good and we could all talk to each other without having to yell. Overall, a very pleasant evening.

We came based on a strong reccomendation from a friend. This is a fun restaurant in a hotel. Not great signage, so make sure you keep an eye open while on Hinman. It is worth a visit. We had a few small plates including the shrimp ceviche, the crab cake and jambalaya. All were outstanding. Service was great. We will... More
