About a decade ago, we made Little Owl a destination restaurant to go to. Always pleased with service and food, we felt a 30 minute drive wasn't a big deal to travel, especially when the atmosphere, plate offerings and beer were so good. Then we had three different visits that weren't so good. So, years past and we didn't go.... More

They make the best Bloody Mary's. Bartenders are so cool, nice atmosphere. We would recommend them to everyone.

I have been coming to Little Owl for 30 years. Hadn't been back in several years. The fried chicken used to be so good I would drive from the Chicago to get it. Not so much this time. The chicken had a mediocre flavor and the what used to be perfectly fried came out dry and overcooked. The bloody Mary... More

I remember the Little Owl from when I was growing up in the last millenium. We went there for the first time that I remember for their Friday Night Fish Fry. Not a bad place to eat.

We just recently celebrated my husband's 50th birthday at Flagstone which is connected to the Little Owl. I was looking for a place with a private party area and inquired about the quaint Voodoo inspired room in the back of the pub. I was delighted to find out not only was it available on the date we wanted, but they... More

We were at the Toy & Doll Show in the Kane County Fairgrounds and I was in the mood for a handmade grilled burger and a beer. I was told to try the Little Owl which turned out to be a nice cozy bar with friendly service. I ordered a Deluxe 1/2 pound burger with grilled onions and pepper jack... More

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch in a wonderfully ambient little restaurant. Great cocktails! For appetisers we had. Meatball Slider and tomatoe salad. For main I had the eggplant parmigiana- yum. My husband enjoyed his pork bun. The roasted pork amongst the best I have ever tasted. We also shared the beans which were delicious to seed on... More

Flagstone is a glorified sports bar. They now serve meals on white square plates. $6.00 draft/craft beers, friendly quick service. I had the grilled corned beef Reuben. Disappointed in sandwich. Overcooked, the meat was what you would get from a deli...sliced thin. And when overcooked was chewy like leather. The side of Cole slaw was tasty.

is this the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant? Lofty question. It WAS a great burger. The slaw was likely the best I have ever enjoyed. The menu had plenty of choices. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. I love historic buildings and this was one of them located in the downtown area. The history... More
