Could not fault it. Friendly staff, Good food and a nice pub all round. A great setting. Loved the preserved look of the interior.

Whilst staying in a rented lodge in Norfolk we were looking for dog friendly days out. Bickling Hall Estate is perfect with great walks for the dog and also had the benefit of the Buck Arms for somewhere to eat afterwards. On Saturday 11th we...came as a family group of six adults and 2 dogs and as it was a Saturday and weather was fine we chose to sit outside and eat. The service was great the food was exceptional and other than the the selfish Morons that chose to vape under the outdoor eating area even though it was clearly marked as no smoking we had nothing to complain about. So much so that yesterday 15th November just my wife and I returned again for a nice dog walk but then to sit inside and have a meal. We asked if we could have somewhere that would be a little quieter as although our dog is good he is still young and can get a little easily distracted. They totally understood and we were shown to a table where we sat and had a lovely meal and a drink. My wife had the Veal chop and myself the Venison. We eat out a lot and I can say this was honestly one of the best meals out we have had for a long time. Service was great, food was superb, the whole experience was perfect. So well done to all the staff at the Buck Arms from waiters, waitress, chef.👏👏👏👏👏More

Me and my family came to Norfolk to stay and unfortunately although Norfolk is a lovely place, it was soured by our experience at this venue. We stayed as guests in the hotel and it was damp and uncomfortable, The room was dirty and was...left untouched when we went out for the day. The food and cleanliness of the restaurant and bar was fine but the service was nonexistent and again had damp patches all over the restaurant walls. It's a shame because it is a lovely little pub in a beautiful area but unfortunately due to bad service and nasty rooms we won't be coming back.More

We have just returned after three days away at Blickling. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome, our room was lovely with great views and well equipped, it was cleaned each morning and restocked with goodies. I sensibly booked the...restaurant for both nights. The food was amazing. I had a yellow Thai curry with crab and prarwns and it was excellent . The Lamb I had on the second night was also very good. By the time we left, we felt like we knew everyone and cannot wait to return for a second visit. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and accomodation. Thank you to all the staff for making it a special stay.More

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. As the weather was hot we sat in the garden under a pleasant covered area. I'm a very fussy eater, but there were lots of things on the menu for me to choose from. The portions were...very generous, made with fresh quality ingredients. This was the best pub meal we have had in a long time! We will definitely be returning.More

The pub was very busy due to Bank Holiday weekend but I had booked well in advance. Staff friendly and attentive. We had the Sunday lunch which was huge but very tasty. Maybe you don’t need mash and roasts - none of us where able...to finish both. Only other minor point - no need for the music - the pub was busy and didn’t need any additional noise adding to that. Lovely pub lunch.More

Upon arrival we were shown to our room which was very pleasant. The snug was very snug which seemed more of a meeting point for gossiping staff behind the bar and their friends. The meal was nice enough albeit almost thrown onto the table in...a rush, the service was appalling. Very slow, our bottle of wine sat on the bar for ages with no sign of staff aware of it, eventually we took it ourselves. We asked for a port twice to go with our cheese but finished the cheese before the staff even got their act together to take the bottle from the shelf (we cancelled the port). We were not approached again for coffee or anything else, we left the restaurant and retired to our room. The staff seemed to be drifting around in the three separate restaurant rooms with no clear idea of who was doing what. The management was very poor. I wouldn’t say they were under staffed just poorly managed. The bedroom was very noisy from the bar downstairs, scraping tables and chairs in the afternoon through to late evening. We made a coffee in the room to find there wasn’t any sugar and no means of getting any unless we dressed ourselves again the go to the bar. Breakfast was poor, very dry toast, sloppy undercooked boiled egg and the garden breakfast which claimed to have halloumi cheese was substituted with a rather nasty looking black pudding. All in all a very disappointing visit and an expensive one at that.More

Popped for dinner this evening and we had the most amazing meal. My husband had the Fillet and King Prawn surf and turf and extremely happy with his beautiful meal. I had the Roast Monkfish and King Prawn Indonesian Redang Curry which was simply sublime...and it made me a very happy woman indeed. Truly a wonderful meal in lovely surroundings presented by charming and friendly staff. Brilliant meal, thank you.More

We stayed at the Bucks Arms for four nights, choosing it because of its convenient location for visiting Blickling Hall and other National Trust properties in the neighbourhood. Our room was spacious, and furnished with a large four-poster bed, and it had an equally spacious...bathroom running off it. The highlight of our stay was the meals - a large full English breakfast in the morning and a first-rate dinner in the evening. As other correspondents have reported, the portions here are generous to say the least, and you'll never go away hungry: after we'd eaten breakfast, we scarcely needed to buy lunch. In every sense, the Bucks Arms offers excellent value for money. Our criticisms are few and relatively minor. One thing which we both found irritating was the way in which the staff constantly refer to their customers as 'you guys' - as in , for example, 'are you guys ready to order yet?' or 'Can I get you guys anything?' We found this mode of address insufficiently respectful. And at breakfast time, it would be good to see a bowl of fruit put out to complement the cereals. Currently, the Bucks Arms is a fruit-free zone, which seems odd in a rich agricultural county, and fruit consumption should be encouraged for healthy eating. This criticisms apart, we have nothing but praise for the Bucks Arms, and we would happily stay there again.More

The location is top notch but car parking is poor on site for the number of visitors and the NT car park is £5.00 next door, closing at dusk??? Do they lock the gates??? Staff were very busy but attentive, service was fairly quick considering...the number of diners present. Portions were huge... would recommend you have a hearty appetite!!! Personally the fries were not to my liking, being too large and chunky. The ribs also were far too large a portion and were taken home for next day lunch, which they were happy to put into a takeaway container. Altogether a great meal, hot and nicely presented. Visited before and will visit again in the future.More
