Great friendly atmosphere, dog friendly bar & food just what was needed after a wet walk in the hills. Made good use of the drying rack above the fire. Went back the following evening.

Set in a walker's paradise this pub offers a very friendly welcome, a wide range of Lakeland beers and ciders, decent wines and wholesome pub fare. The interior is suitably rustic and functional, it's family friendly (including dogs, of course) and has pub games on...More

We all had the slow cooked meats sandwich options - herdy lamb, bbq chicken and beef. We all enjoyed, though at £10.95 each they are not cheap. Like the free flavoured water (basil and orange or mint and cucumber). Lamb was very salty, but yum!

Really enjoyed dinner here after a long day's walking. Everything you could want from a pub except for slightly less than smiley staff but a really small fault in an otherwise brilliant pub.

Well, I remember a time when the stickle barn served good food and was always full with hikers. A burger and chips always went down well. We sat upstairs... on our own. There wasn't anything on the menu that took our fancy and should have...More

We popped in here with our 2 children mid-walk, for lunch on a very hot day. The menu is not extensive but as a gluten-free mum with a hungry husband and 2 hungry boys we found something for everyone. It was expensive, though the jacket...More
