Only negative is the frequent wait times and no reservation policy. The food is as good as that we had in Germany and Austria and the beer list the most extensive we have seen.

If I could live in this restaurant I would. That's how much I love it. The comfort food of home cooked meals from my childhood combined with simply the best beer selection in all of Chicago ... All with dignity... and staff who really know thier stuff. If you walk into this restaurant and need beer guidance, please give an... More

Our party of six, visited the Lodge on Saturday Jan. 14th. My wife and daughter-in-law had the goulash with spatial. I had weinerschnitzel, as did my son. My son had chicken paprekosh. My sister-in-law had the knotwuertz. We all enjoyed our meals. the only issue was that my sister-in-law's bread dumplings had a gravy covering which tasted rancid. The beer... More

I will sorely miss this place when I move. This is the type of restaurant that was made for me. Old world style, with the best beer & food. They have an ever rotating variety of beers, tons of taps and the clout to do cool brewery collaborations (Solemn Oath 1st year anniversary). Food: Hunter Schnitzel: Hearty slab of pounded... More

I would have given 5 stars but we were seated at a table situated under a vent blowing cold air. Since it was 30 degrees outside, the only good thing about the table is that we all had warm clothing on. The table to avoid is all the way back of the restaurant on the right side as you are... More

When you drive up you can see the restaurant is friendly. It looks old fashioned and friendly. Pull open the massive door and walk into a wonderful bar one one side, or a large room with cozy lighting. Walls are full of german steins and decorations with pine boughs. The food is authentic and surprisingly tasty. The wait staff has... More

Excellent food and service. It gets crowded on week ends. No rsvp. So join family there. Good food and beer.

I enjoyed the food and atmosphere for The Bavarian Lodge. My veggie and chicken schnitzels were delicious. The mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and cabbage were also very good! I definitely recommend The Bavarian Lodge!

I had been here before with a beer loving friend. The beer menu is impressive, but the food menu is equally impressive. I really enjoyed the sausages, the schnitzel, and the sauerkraut is sooo good. While the place does get busy, the wait usually isn't very long.
