This is a great up-and-coming microbrewery located across the street from the JT Walkers Restaurant/Bar. They sell only in growlers, which you purchase the growler, then have it refilled with the beer of your choice. Selections are rotated based on what is being brewed. Hale to the Chief is a popular choice, and is now being distributed to area restaurants.
Friendly staff, I have tried the cheesy beer soup, Portabella toasted sandwich and I LOVE IT!!! The Balcony is awesome...So many friendly people there!
Everything I have had here is great. The adult mac and cheese is some of the best I have ever tasted. Second story has outdoor balcony to eat al fresco.
Meals are consistent; Service is spotty - sometimes good, sometimes not so good. The management appears to be consumed with running the brewery across the street and neglecting the restaurant. The menu has not changed in years. There seems to be a high turnover in wait staff and the new employees are not trained (Don't know what beers are on... More
Looking for a place to eat after driving 6 hours from Wisconsin ~ Cute, small town, historic building with excellent beer & food.
Great upper deck off of the sports bar upstairs. Downstairs is casual but elegant! Try the wraps and burgers upstairs and the daily special downstairs. They have their own line of beers made just across the street at the brewery that vary from heavy and smokey to crisp and light IPAs.
Fabulous old historic building, delicious and varied selection of beer, and friendly people - what more could you want? I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here amidst the old wood, vintage signs, and beer tanks. I savored the Tumble Inn IPA and the Scotch Ale. But the Cream Stout (sigh!) had to come home with me in a growler. Perfection!
When I visit my daughter this place is a must. Always good, great. from the food to the service, to the cleanliness to the Friggen craft beer they brew right across the street. It is worth the drive off the highway for...maybe 1 mile off the interstate. love this place. and the beer keeps getting better, grab a growler.
