Loved absolutely everything about this restaurant. Great food and excellent service. Great location and we had plenty of food to feed a large family. Highly recommend you try this out.

Whole hog displayed after 6 pm for your dining experience. You order the shoulder and get a side for the dinner menu. I loved the experience.

This place has great BBQ! I would suggest the fried pickles also as a side or appetizer. The sandwiches are a good size and the price is good too. I've been here numerous times and have had good service most of the time. I had always been clean and friendly. I've been to the one in Murphysboro and Marion.

Hadn't been here for a couple of years. The last time I was there I noticed the ceiling ducts and some areas were dirty and dusty. This time it was much cleaner. The first thing you will notice is the smoked BBQ smell. If you like BBQ you will like this place. I had a rack of ribs that were... More

Excellent BBQ of course from the Grand Champions. Excellent sides of beans and also beans and rice. Luv the woodwork of the bar at original location.

We stopped for the night after a long day's drive and couldn't help but smell the amazing BBQ smoke in the air. After asking the front desk folks if the smell was an indicator of good food (they said absolutely!) we decided to walk over. I ordered the BBQ ribs and my husband had the beef brisket sandwich... both were... More

Waitress was knowlegable and friendly. She recommended some of the top sandwiches at our request. WE were very pleased with our selections and had a blast! Fast and terrific service in a quaint atmosphere. Great value for scrumptious food.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. The lunch specials are a good value. I had a sandwich, choice of side, and a drink all for $7 and it was served up quickly. The pulled pork was tender and moist, however it had zero trace of being smoked. Hush puppies were bland. Sweet tea was good, and the refills were prompt.... More

My family was celebrating a family milestone and they were more than accommodating to our group of 14. We had a waitress named Chrissy that was very friendly, fast, and efficient. She was being pulled in a million different directions but never lost her cool or acted as if it was an inconvenience. The entire family had a great time... More

Great place for pig and chicken! Love the stools outside and the smoked then grilled chicken wings are the bomb! Such a great smokey flavor with a unique wing sauce! The smoked pork is good and the killer brisket green beans take beans to the next level.

Thank Edward B

Illinois was recently named one of "11 Top BBQ Cities in America" by Thrillist, thanks to 17th Street. Mike Mills and his crew are proud to support and shine a spotlight on Southern Illinois, sharing the gospel of barbecue and their delicious food both in Southern Illinois and nationwide. At 17th Street, barbecue is a culture, not a concept. The restaurant is a community gathering place where guests become family. Rooted in history and family, their delicious barbecue smoked using local apple wood and their famous Magic Dust(R). Owner Mike Mills has devoted his life to the pits and is considered by his peers a true pioneer, legend, and leading force in the barbecue world.
