My mother's favorite place to go when she comes to visit. 50 mile drive, but worth it to her....she, being an antique collector, and an antique also, enjoys the ambiance.

We went for a road trip and tried to get into a restaurant in another town nearby this one but it was an hour and a half wait. So on the advice of a family member we went to Mark to Coal Miner's Café for fried chicken. It's a little corner café all decorated in old metal signs and antiques.... More

We met some area friends here for breakfast, and were very pleased. It's in a neat old building, with lots of old signs and antiques, etc. The service and food were great! We will definitely return to try it again!

Some of the best homemade soup I have ever eaten in my life!!!! Been there several times!!! Fair prices, generous portions (The homemade pork tenderloins are AMAZING!!!), friend staff, and nice rustic atmosphere highlighting the history of the town!!! I'd definitely go back!!!

Came to this place on the recommendation of friends. They were right. Stop for breakfast. Food was very good and plenty of it. Very good service with very friendly wait staff. Lots of old memorabilia inside to look at while waiting on meal and afterwards. Looking forward to return with more friends for dinner. I will highly recommend this place.

We were traveling through the area and needed a place to stop for lunch. We found this little gem in the city of Mark, Illinois. On the outside, the building is old and small. Open those front doors, though, and the inside is welcoming, warm, and friendly. The food was delicious and the staff very nice! Service was great! If... More

Went there with friends - good breakfast in an out of the way place. We will go back again when we get out there.

We ate here with friends on a Monday evening. They have a very nice menu with a good selection of specials. Many items are truly homemade. The service was excellent. Just studying the decor was worth the stop.
