After a gentle walk around the waterfalls and Glenariff Forest we called in for an early dinner. Good selection on menu and reasonably priced. Starter and main course, all good and tasty, absolutely no complaints. Friendly staff and good service. Starters Garlic breaded mushrooms and...Filo-wrapped prawns. Mains, Halibut, Braised Beef, (both served with lovely buttery well seasoned mash) Chicken Goujons, Burger and garlic fires. Most importantly a decent pint of Guinness. Good food, good service, value for money, We'll definitely call in again.More

We were there for a function. Great food. The atmosphere is fabulous - do make sure you take the short walk up to the waterfall. There are also longer walks.

The manager in this restaurant shouldn't be one. I've had a read through the reviews and saw the same behavior he displayed to us Upon entering the door we were asked square or round table I said round and they sat us in the corner...at a square table. WHY OFFER ?? anyways next 2 family's who entered the place after us were 5 or less and yet got the circle tables ill assume it's because we had kids only difference between us and them. I felt like we were treated as a class not as a customer and they believed to have had us all measured from we walked in The food came out. One child ordered a burger and chips and couldn't eat her burger putting it down to her being out of sorts I had got My other child the sausage and chips with beans she couldn't eat anything but the sausages but we didn't complain about this. The fish we complained about to the waitress she apologized as said she would mention it to the chef. When it came to paying I explained my mum couldn't eat the fish which returned to kitchen barely touched got told MY CHEF WOULDNT SEND IT OUT LIKE THAT yea cus I just carry grease in my non existing hand bag in fact none of us carried bags in let alone with any form of liquids to tamper with the food. The waitress also confirmed to what she saw and he claimed the same thing chef wouldn't send it out like that but that's just it he did send it out like that dripping in grease Now I'd say if ur looking a fish supper for a fraction of the price u can get urself a crispy battered fish at Mortons in ballycastle and that's a chippy not a restaurant! Manager needs to learn some manors in customer service asking your regulars to review you doesn't take away the fact u still treat people like rubbish ! U bracket people by class and assume there lower class did u see the car we drove into your car park us the family u judged ! Ps from the makeover the place looks boring and crap and has lost its atmosphere! The waitress who served us was lovely and I thank her for trying to defend on what we said but I guess the customer nd staff isn't right £74 we spent we could have got edible meals for £45 not even 20 mins down the road We were so in the wrong u offered us a discount of the next meal only u were told I wouldn't waste my money in ur place again !More

Went to Glenarrif forest Park to walk the red arrowed waterfall route, which is lovely, and about 2/3 around walk, myself, wife and small dog, reached Laragh Lodge. Could not believe that such a facility would be found on our route. We went up to...check menu on door, and as we had our wee dog, it was 7pm and had to get back to our car in forest Park before it clossed gates at 9pm, we planned to sit outside and have just starters. With a minute of going in to order, my wife came out to say we can bring our dog inside. Fantastic, and do unusual in any such place in North of Ireland (other restaurants, take note). We were greeted by a very pleasant and friendly man, who I assume is the owner/manager. He couldn't have been more helpful, even offered to drive us back to forest Park car park in case we would be late. He offered this very generous offer both on entry and on leaving Laragh Lodge. We were extremely grateful for offer, but could not impose in that way, and we ended up with plenty of time to walk back to forest car park after meal. Rather than starters, we both decided to go for main meals. The same man, owner/manager, without being asked, brought a dog bowl of water to our table, another little gesture that shows his warmth and desire to make customers feel welcome. I had the Gammon steak meal and my Wife had the Chicken Ceaser salad and chips. Food was cooked to perfection and very generous portions. If time had allowed, we would have loved to try one of the lovely desserts that staff were seen by us, carrying to other tables. All in all, a remarkable experience, excellent food, excellent service from all staff, beautiful building and inside decor. Will definitely use this location as a new go to place. Have already planned to meet other family members there in a few . We'll worth a 2 hr drive to get to. Again a big thank you to gentleman that greeted and served us. After paying for our meal, I think I heard the next paying customer reference the man as 'Gary'. If I am correct, a big thank You Gary for top class service. If not Gary, well, I hope You know who I am talking about. One of Ireland's must visit restaurants. 10/10More

Extremely rude and dismissive staff. We as a family of 4 purposely parked at this restaurant instead of the main car park because after we had been for our trek around the waterfalls we had every intention of having lunch at this restaurant. Before we...set off for our walk myself and my young son needed the bathroom. As soon as i stepped foot in the door i was stopped by an extremely rude older man waving his hand dismissively at me as he was on the phone. I turned myself and my son around and out the door. I suffer from a condition that I cannot wait. This restaurant needs to re-evaluate it's staff members and how they treat their would be customers. And from looking at the reviews we seem to not be the only family to have been treated in this manner.More

A wonderful location by the amazing Waterfall Park in Glenarriff. The staff were lovely and the food was good and beautifully presented. We were awkward and asked for modifciations to the menu which they were happy to make. Although the menu only mentions one vegetarian...dish, they offered three others when asked. the place was busy but the staff were warm and considerate.More

Absolutely horrible management. We had went a walk round the waterfalls after this I went into the restaurant to ask if I could change my 9 week old baby’s nappy. The manager (male) told me NO. I explained my child was 9 weeks old and...if I could just change his nappy then I would be on my way. He continued to tell me “No, go up to the top of the forest and use them toilets” I continued to explain he was just a baby and I was just wanting to change his nappy. He continued to say the restaurant was strictly for customers only. After nearly begging!! He finally give in and then told me “don’t put the nappy in the bin take it with you” to my shock from his comments I used the changing facilities anyways. I washed my hands and used the bin, to find the bin already had used nappys in it!! Total disgrace how a new mother or any mother should be talked too. Very disappointed how I was treated and I hope this never happens to any one else regardless if they have a child or not!More

I was hiking over the carnlough mountains and somehow ended up in glenariffe (took a wrong turn). To my surprise, I came across the Laragh lodge and I am delighted that I did!!! When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who was...dressed comfortably in casual attire, socks and sandals which made me feel instantly relaxed and invited as I felt at home in the tranquil atmosphere. I was served by a male named Michael and a female staff member Aideen. These individuals went above and beyond with their service and nothing was too much hassle as I had many requests. I had chicken skewers as my main and it was fantastic with the noodles. I was going to get a sweet as they had pavlova however I asked Michael if there was eggs in the pavlova and he was unsure and asked the chefs - I am aware there are eggs in pavlova but I appreciated Michael confirming this. The only downside was the fact the young boy behind the bar looked confused throughout the duration of my time in the restaurant and a young waitress with glasses did not smile. Overall it was a good experience, the restaurant was busy and standards were high. Never have I been so glad to get lost with no phone service!!!! :)More

The food, when it arrived, was decent. However, my autistic daughter was upset that her order had been messed up. We had had to wait a fair while for our food also. Fair enough as the place was busy, though we noticed that people who...had arrived after us received their food before us. I explained to the manageress that my daughter was upset and that she is autistic. The manageress was barely listening and then patted my daughter on the head. The food had arrived correctly by this stage, but my daughter was EXTREMELY upset by the unwanted contact from the manageress. My daughter had a full melt down in the restaurant, the staff seemed to not comprehend what was happening and an older man in a pink shirt came over suggested we move outside. As I attempted to yet again explain the issue to him, he started to wander off and when I asked him to listen, he paid the barest of attention and then wandered away. We eventually got my daughter calmed enough so that we could leave. No member staff asked if we were ok, they ran away. As we left, I told the manageress that I wasn't expecting to pay as we had barely touched our food, she barely acknowledged me. My wife and I both worked in hospitality for many years. Therefore, I can say that the food in this place is probably fine, BUT THE MANAGEMENT DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.More

We went to the forest park at the top of the hill and set off on the waterfall trail. It was a long way down. Eventually we came to a waterfall, and shortly after to this restaurant. It dawned on us then that we could...have parked here in the first place ( for free) and taken a short stroll to the waterfalls! It was a very warm day, and we got chatting to the owner as we enjoyed cold drinks. He then drove us in his own car all the way back up to where we'd parked. This was a real act of kindness in the heat, and goes way beyond outstanding customer service. Pay him a visit if you can and enjoy an easy way to view the waterfalls!More
