Went to Glenarrif forest Park to walk the red arrowed waterfall route, which is lovely, and about 2/3 around walk, myself, wife and small dog, reached Laragh Lodge. Could not believe that such a facility would be found on our route. We went up to...check menu on door, and as we had our wee dog, it was 7pm and had to get back to our car in forest Park before it clossed gates at 9pm, we planned to sit outside and have just starters. With a minute of going in to order, my wife came out to say we can bring our dog inside. Fantastic, and do unusual in any such place in North of Ireland (other restaurants, take note). We were greeted by a very pleasant and friendly man, who I assume is the owner/manager. He couldn't have been more helpful, even offered to drive us back to forest Park car park in case we would be late. He offered this very generous offer both on entry and on leaving Laragh Lodge. We were extremely grateful for offer, but could not impose in that way, and we ended up with plenty of time to walk back to forest car park after meal. Rather than starters, we both decided to go for main meals. The same man, owner/manager, without being asked, brought a dog bowl of water to our table, another little gesture that shows his warmth and desire to make customers feel welcome. I had the Gammon steak meal and my Wife had the Chicken Ceaser salad and chips. Food was cooked to perfection and very generous portions. If time had allowed, we would have loved to try one of the lovely desserts that staff were seen by us, carrying to other tables. All in all, a remarkable experience, excellent food, excellent service from all staff, beautiful building and inside decor. Will definitely use this location as a new go to place. Have already planned to meet other family members there in a few . We'll worth a 2 hr drive to get to. Again a big thank you to gentleman that greeted and served us. After paying for our meal, I think I heard the next paying customer reference the man as 'Gary'. If I am correct, a big thank You Gary for top class service. If not Gary, well, I hope You know who I am talking about. One of Ireland's must visit restaurants. 10/10More
