Quick pop in today with family. Just gone 12pm on a Thursday and particularly busy. Found a nice table and ordered the food and drinks at the bar. Staff are great. I chose here because of the extensive menu so all 4 of us were...catered for including the vegetarian among us and the good prices. A lot of the meals were under £10 which is handy these days. Was told by one of the family that the roast beef on the roast of the day was a bit tough but ok. Got to admit I was a bit disappointed with my “homemade corned beef pie” as it was simply a bit of puff pastry sliced in half with a dollop of hash inserted inside. Not the beautiful short crust pastry plate pie most pubs and cafe’s serve up. Overall, a decent enough visit for the quality and price but nothing that excites. Service was very good even though busy and the place is very dog friendly.More

Lovely little find, good wide ranging menu and lovely decor inside. Staff welcoming. Good pricing and large portions. My rare steak was perfectly cook and we all enjoyed our meal. Only feedback I would say would be could do with an comprehensive allergen list and...staff could have been a bit more attentive to the tables as we had to continue to ask for service especially when we first arrived but as mentioned very friendly and cheerfulMore

Small but quirky pub on a country lane in Seaton Deleval, but very dog friendly and very family friendly. The pub is of a Victorian era with the decor very appropriate for the era. We chose 2 Sunday dinners, a Carvery Bap and a Scampi,...all were piping hot when they came out and well laid out. The Meat was hot, the gravy was meat gravy and there was the option was gluten free. The dog friendly was a big sell having our little pooch, we were able to sit in the bar amongst other dogs and despite him barking, there was no problem. The staff are extremely friendly, very welcoming and attentive to your needs, there is no push to finish and they check if all is okay with food.More

We call in here every year when visiting the area and are never disappointed. I had the steak and ale pie which must have had 12 huge pieces of beef in which was absolutely delicious and my wife had a cheese, ham and mushroom omelette...which she said was lovely. The prices are so reasonable. Some places would be charging the same for one of these meals that we paid for both. There are always lots of staff around and nothing is too much trouble. Will be back next year!More

We hadn't been to the Keel Row since living in Cramlington about 30 years and recently decided to go there for our weekly pub lunch. I had noticed on the on-line menu that all the listed awards were years old, being upto 9 years in...the past, but decided to ignore this fact and take a chance, especially as there was one item in the mains that we hadn't had before. We got a table for two and our menus. I noticed two old chips lurking under the table but my wife didn't think that it was worth mentioning it to the staff. I had the prawn cocktail, which contained the smallest prawns I had ever seen and a mediocre sauce. My wife had creamy garlic mushrooms, which was plain with no garlic taste at all. For mains, we had both wanted the sizzling Shanghai mixed platter but were told that it was off, as they had ran out of Hoisin sauce! The alternatives were pretty standard fare. My fish and chips had a relatively small battered fish which was wet and soggy inside, with tiny, mushy flakes, as opposed to the large, solid flakes elsewhere. My wife's checken was unremarkable. We also had a loud pub phone ringing nearby unanswered for several minutes, despite the place being fairly quiet and also noticed that tables were wiped down without being sprayed as in other places. Also, tables and chairs were moved around nearby while we were eating. Overall, this was the poorest meal experience we had come across in a very long time and, needless to say, we will not be dining there again. Certainly not recommended and an eatery to be avoided.More

Visited for afternoon tea with my three sisters at lunch time after a recommendation . Good service . Excellent value for money .Choice of sandwiches tailored to individual wishes as is type of scone choice . Note sandwiches are more substantial than usual afternoon tea...triangles or fingers ! Scones served with butter cream and jam. There were 4 cakes each and also sausage rolls .So a substantial meal - boxes were provided to take home what we couldn’t eat . Tea was unlimited and kept flowing. Staff very friendly and accommodating.More

First time here for a while, looked busy which is normally a good sign. Wife had chicken sizzler fajitas, unfortunately the chicken was very dry and not succulent at all. I had the mixed grill sizzler, the bed of onions were saturated with fat and...the egg undercooked, the rest was fine but would have preferred home made chips instead of frozen! The menu has a great choice of food, maybe the wrong choice at the wrong time, the mince and dumplings on another table looked delicious. The portions are large by todays standards which for me is on the plus side.More

Arrived with my Wife and a Friend from Bristol for Lunch, we were seated straight away and Drinks order taken and served promptly, Meal order taken quickly and looked forward to our Lunch, Meals arrived in 15-20mins and 2 looked fine Lasagne and Liver Bacon...and Chips, other one Gammon looked a little on Thin side but chips were hot and Tasty, when I tasted the Gammon it was Cold, OVERCOOKED and Tough, we clalled the Waitress who said she would change it, the Gammon returned 5-10 mins later so hoping for the best I again tried it, chips were hot but the Gammon was just Warm and again Tough, I struggled through half and left the Rest, when the Table was cleard we were asked if we enjoyed our meal to which we replied 2 were fine but the Gammon was still Tough and the not very good, I was then informed WELL the Chef? put it Back on the Grill and re-heated it, result was a WELL OVERCOOKED Tough Gammon, who reheats a Gammon that is already Tough and sends it back out, NOT VERY GOOD, we will not Return.More

Took our 5 year old grandson for lunch yesterday and we had the best time! He really enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor play areas. The food was lovely, I had the lasagne which was very tasty and my husband had the mixed grill which...was superb! Grandsons cheeseburger was the size of an adult burger, he couldn’t finish it so our dog got a treat for her tea! The staff on duty were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly visit againMore

Amazing food at an incredibly low price in a lovely family ran venue. If you plan a weekend visit, it is highly recommended to book in advance due to the popularity of the place, otherwise it is literally first come first served to even be...able to get a seat in the bar area.More

So disappointed. Wanted to go for a long time as the reviews were good. As we arrived the Waitress threw a couple of menus onto a table without saying anything and walked off. No welcome, she slammed the drinks on the table when they arrived....vegetarian curry was bland, sauce tasted like it was out of a packet and vegetables tasted like they were out of a tin, onions weren’t cooked. Chicken and ham cream sauce meal - awful. Meat swimming in thin sauce, I couldn’t put a knife through the ham, chicken was dry and overcooked. Vegetables - carrots watery and peas looked and tasted as if they were out of a tin. If anyone had taken the trouble to ask how our meals were it would have helped. Never again.More

We called for Sunday Lunch, having heard good reviews of the place. It was extremely busy, but we found a table easily and were made very welcome. The Sunday menu was basic, consisting of roast dinners or a selection of filled baguettes, with a reasonable...choice of starters and deserts. The service was very quick, with our ordered meals arriving within 5 minutes, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The roast beef dinner I had was extremely tasty and nicely presented, and of a decent size; other people in our group had chicken or pork and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. It was all very reasonably priced at £9.90 per head and represented extremely good value.More
