Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just been to The Nelson for a few drinks with family. We all really enjoyed Brads homemade burgers. It was a bit of a wait because it was very busy & Brad was kept busy barbecuing, nice to see it! Only reason not a 5...could have done with 2 chefs! Enjoyed it there all the same!More

Came here on a Wednesday night for a charity quiz with friends. The place was packed and really buzzing! A great selection of ales, ciders, etc and they even had Warsteiner on draft!! New owners seem to want to include locals in what could be...a great little local pub.. will definitley return!More

This used to be a good country eating place. There is now no food whatsoever, and opening hours are limited - not open at all on Monday, or any weekday lunchtime, or Sunday evening.More

Thanks for the feedback. We haven’t offered a regular food service October 2015 due to it being unecomnomical. We have never opened on a Monday. We are open 18:00 - 00:00 Tuesday to Saturday and 12:00 - 15:00 on Saturday, 12:00 - 16:00 on Sunday...More

Have always enjoyed a visit to the Nelson when visiting my friend in Suckley such a shame to find that there is now no food served at all it used to be a regular eating place with so many lunch clubs etc visiting. A Saturday...lunch time with 8 customers and 2 dogs does not a vibrant local pub make. It's such a shame it could be lovely again it's almost as if they don't care anymore I will vote with my feet .More

We visited here when we were staying close by. We went on a Saturday night, we phoned ahead as we wanted to check that we could bring our dog and they said we could if we ate in the bar. When we arrived it was...empty. Three of us had the steak pie and it was really good, apparently they get them from a local butcher, they were full with meat. Another of our group had the steak and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all very friendly and as we had the bar to ourselves we played pool and Jenga. A few people turned up and went in the lounge it is a lovely pub with good pub grub and friendly staff and it is a shame for them that it wasn't busier. Maybe it gets busier in the summer.More

its been a few years since my last review here but the ownership has since changed but it remains as good under the new management as before. ..luckily the new owner hasn't made any sweeping changes so the quality of food and service remains as...before which is high and consistent. The fish and chips may sound expensive but that piece of loin of cod, boneless would probably cost as much to buy fresh as cooked here...and served up. A few minor changes to the menu make it a little more friendly for younger eaters, burgers and cajun chicken burgers but it fully deserves its reputation as a family friendly eating and drinking hole. Children welcome but no play area but free wifi...More

We had our company day at The Nelson and it was very rewarding. The venue is very charming and if you looking for a genuine country pub and restaurant - look no further. The chef David, will serve you a delicious meal and the rest...of the team will make sure you are very comfortable. Lovely Ale's on tap that switches regularly and good wine selection. I had a very nice Malbec to my rare Bistro steak!More

The Nelson burgers are delicious! Good selection of beers. The owner is very friendly. It's a great country pub, and the perfect place for lunch after a stroll along part of the Worcestershire Way.
