We had a lovely Saturday dinner among the locals. We both order the 5 course tasting menu & throughly enjoyed traditional basque cuisine. The presentation was outstanding & the food was very good (4 stars). We really enjoyed the sardines with peppers as well as the unique blood sausage cones. The service was a tad impersonal/rushed, likely due to the... More

The establishment rang us in England to confirm our reservation which was a nice touch. Delightful welcome when we arrived for lunch a few days later. A nice choice of starters with something for everyone. The main course choice had fish, beef, pork and pigeon. This is hearty and hefty food especially the calf cheeks with foie gras and the... Hot Tip: Have a nice long lunch at local restaurants. Hector Oribe was in a sleep village near Laguardia. We were the first party who arrived and after 30 minutes, the place was full. After 2 weeks in Rioja/San Sebastian/Bordeaux, this was our favorite meal. It's a fabulous value and the food was wonderful. DO GO!!!!

I would not be surprised if this restaurant received a Michelin star pretty soon: what it lacks in terms of sophistication it makes up in terms of fairness to ingredients and traditional cooking. you get top quality local ingredients and traditional recipes with a twist. sometimes the combination didn't quite hit the sweetspot (eg the fish with two green reductions... My wife had a nasty fall on the way here through the vines from Lagaurdia. Decided to press on and received great care and attention when we eventually arrived. That alone was worthy of praise but the food and service was outstanding, delicate but punchy in terms of local flavour. They are only open for lunch except Saturday but I... More

Just wanted to point out you have to make a reservation. We arrived at 13.15, opening hour to find we couldn't have a table. There was no one in the restaurant. Would have loved to have known you had to book as it looked very nice.

We ate here as part of a wine tour we had booked through Thabuca. The meal was fabulous. Our favorite part of the meal was the appetizer sampler. They brought each menu item out separately and we were able to go slow and savor each of these wonderful dishes. These were some of the most delicious small plates we had... More

We drove the 2 hour trek from San seb to this rest auto enjoying Rioja wine country and Pamplona on the way. We ordered the degustation menu for 38 euro and it was delightful Terrine, black pudding cones, anchovies cod, but the highlights were the veal cheeks and dessert sampler Good value and a great day trip if if the... In a small village like Paganos, a restaurant as good as this - quite unexpected! We ate here one lunchtime, and it was so good we returned the next day. Modern thoughtful cuisine, great tasting ingredients, imaginatively prepared and presented. we ate a carpaccio of beef with tuna and fruit dressing, moist hake, and duck breast with duck liver amongst...
