What a pleasant place to have dinner; excellent ambiance, great food, palatable draught beer and attentive service.

Absolute perfection. Could not have expected anything else. The service was perfect and very friendly. We had a couple of drinks which were the cheapest in the area by far. The food was just what we wanted for lunch and very well priced. Our only...regret was that we didn't eat there in the evening, as where we did eat was very disappointing. Strongly recommended this place, lovely rooms and surroundings to eat and drink in, everything just perfect, great menus etc Wish it was closer to where we lived, if it was we would be there every week.More
Two of us had a superb Sunday lunch today - Starters - duck & orange pate/bbq’d chicken wings, both very tasty & generous portions Mains - Roast Beef/Braised shoulder of lamb, roast potatoes, mixed veg & cauliflower cheese. Both meats cooked to perfection, as were...the veg, all served piping hot & with plenty of tasty gravy on the side. Pleasant attentive staff made the experience perfect, if you haven’t eaten here I suggest you do so!More
Visited with 6 friends last Sunday. I’m so pleased we booked as it was full of diners. Linda & Gary are so welcoming & cannot do enough to make sure you have the best time here. 6 of us had Sunday roast (4 lamb, 2...beef) and we all demolished it! Both meats were cooked to perfection, & all the trimmings were delicious. One of my friends said the cauliflower cheese was the best he’d ever tasted; another said it was ‘to die for’! We finished our meals with cheese & biscuits or desserts, which were all top notch too. I would highly recommend eating here, just please remember to book in advance!More
Lovely friendly welcome. Excellent food - fresh, hot and eclectic. Traditional, old fashioned interior but the staff and food more than make up for it. Check opening times before visiting, as it’s closed some days.
Found this gem ahead of our stay so booked largely on recommendation. They weren't wrong as this quaint pub off the beaten track was delightful from the welcome we had to when we left. It was Sunday so the roasts were great and I ended...with cheese & biscuits which was a real treat. The desserts did take an age to come but I can forgive small things. Will deffo return next time we are near. Great value overall.More
Our third visit to this lovely pub/restaurant. Four of us had a table booked for after a visit to the Three Counties Show. We arrived early, but this was no problem at all. The food is still delicious and the service friendly and spot on....There was a dessert on the specials menu which was heaven on a plate - if you get the chance to have the bread and butter pudding with an apricot glaze just go for it! I only wish we lived closer as we would then be regulars here.More
Myself and my partner took my mother here for Sunday lunch for her birthday. We had two courses, all having different roasts following up with different desserts and cheese for me. The food and service were fabulous, and we will be visiting again soon.
We saw the sign and followed the directions and were very pleased that we did!! A pleasant, friendly welcome and a glass of New Zealand Marlborough hit the spot for me!!! We decided to have something to eat and decided upon a trio of starters....White bait, prawns in garlic and garlic mushrooms seemed appropriate for our palate. You just have to try them for yourself! They were amazing!! We will definitely return, very soon!!! Thank you. We love to find somewhere near us to eat. See you soon foot round two!!!More
My wife and I eat out at least once a week. We visited the Bear and Ragged staff maybe 10 years ago and felt a bit underwhelmed so never went back. A cheeky little day off meant we decided to pop out for a Friday...lunch and give this another try due to positive Trip Advisor reviews and wow. It was ridiculously quiet which is a shame as the landlord couldn’t have been more welcoming and the food and drink was some of the best we’ve had in years. Drinks wise I had the draught English Stout, can’t remember the name, but it gives Dublin Guinness a run for its money and my wife had a Pinot Grigio just £6 for a large glass. For food my wife had butternut squash filled with Mediterranean vegetables and Feta with a cheese sauce, and I had sticky chilli beef, egg fried rice and prawn crackers. The veggie meal was sublime and shows that with a bit of imagination vegetarian food can be simple and easy incredibly tasty. Mine was simply the best Chinese style meal I have ever had. Sticky, tender spicy beef with perfectly cooked vegetables, an egg fried rice an equal to the best Chinese restaurant if not slightly better and prawn crackers as good as they get.More
Sue and I attended a wake at this pub. The hot and cold food was of the highest standard. The best sausage rolls I have eaten. Fabulous quiches. Amazing sandwiches. Very good chips and fish gougons. The little scones, profiteroles, eclairs were all home made...and delicious. The pub has a large car park and is warm and homely. Service is very attentive. Drinks were varied and well priced. We will return and raise (another) glass to our late friend.More
Enjoyed a thoroughly lovely evening with my two girlfriends. We were impressed by the quality of the food and the service. At first glance, the menu comprised of traditional ‘pub grub’, but this did not fully reflect how delicious the home-cooked food would be! There...were also some ‘specials’ available and two of our group took advantage. The staff could not have been more helpful, taking their time to make us feel welcome and explain some of the ingredients and cooking methods. We are not local to The Bear and Ragged Staff, but we stay in the area about four times a year.; we will definitely be returning.More
A really good pub with lovely people who are keen to please and excellent food. How can they hang on to this chef? An enticing menu (that fits onto a single sheet of paper) with food that’s just delicious. Good value and decent size portions....This is THE country pub in the Malvern/Worcester area to head for.More
Everything you could want in a country pub. Great food - good value and very friendly and efficient staff. Set in a quiet country lane in Bransford but easy to get to from main roads. Highly recommended
Both my partner and I visited the bear, we both left stuffed and very satisfied. The food and service were brilliant. I had the mushrooms to start, followed by the chicken tacos and both dishes were wonderful, My partner had the pate to start and...the steak pie for main, he loved both. We shared the brownie to end, it was accompanied with a vanilla ice cream. The best combo. Overall, the waitresses were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We could not fault any of the evening. I would recommend this place to anyone. They have a large menu with many different options. Catering for intolerances. Try it, you will not be disappointed. The only regret is not taking any pictures before we ate (too greedy)More
