Tucked away in Selworthy Green is a old-fashioned Tea-Room set amidst spectacular scenery. The tea is superb as are the scones and cream but the real bonus is the local Whortleberry Jam which although 50p extra is worth it. The welcome is friendly and you can take your Dog in as well or sit outside and enjoy the views.. Also... More

I've visited loads of times and the village is truly beautiful. However, on this last visit the teas had shrunk. OK, maybe good for one's health but isn't the point of a cream tea to indulge?! I visited last year and the cream tea was two scones, whortleberry jam and a generous pot of cream. This year a second scone... More

Delightfully set in a beautiful small village and even more delightfully in a thatched cottage. Good variety of homemade cakes with teas/coffees.

Run by the National trust but open to all Periwinkle Cottage tea rooms is in the most picturesque setting imaginable. Sitting by a green surrounded by similarly painted thatched cottages the tearoom gardens have views to die for over the Honicote estate and Exmoor. Cream teas irresistible so don't go unless you are prepared to enjoy a calorific delight

This place has been closed for the first time in my lifetime (over 50 years) for several months. The reasons given being vague. There are, however a group of ladies struggling to reopen this place. The cream teas are still of the high standard as remembered but it is so sad to see this place struggling to keep alive! The... More

I returned to Periwinkle after about 10 years, I was really looking forward to my visit. I had a cream tea which was nice and the local jam was beautiful. I was a little disappointed in the reduced menu and it didn't seem as busy as I had remembered it but enjoyed my visit

Beautiful setting and lovely cream tea. We sat at a small circular table for 2 people and found it a bit tricky having two small containers for jam and cream, 2 tea spoons, knife, plate with scone EACH, teapot, 2 cups and saucers. Suggest you sit on a larger table, if available. The road up to it is windy and... More

Served using proper plates, tea pots the cream tea was good. The scones were enormous, though not quite the nicest we had on Exmoor

Good attractive location and benefitted from glorious sunshine. Very pleasant garden with lovely views. Great choice of cream tea or brilliant choice of cakes. Staff pleasant and helpful.
