We have eaten at El Zarape for years, so obviously this is a restaurant that is good to return to. The enchiladas calabasa are really tasty and my husband loves the tacos pastor. Guacamole is fresh. Salsa and chips are good. Service is variable, as...More

I have been to El Zarape several times. Usually i order something different each time. Have never been a fan of their rice due to some wierd after taste and after effects, but there were other items to order. Tried their tacos one evening, not...More

First time visit. Okay experience, nice service. When walked in, place warmly decorated. I was just a bit bothered by a slight oldness smell. I was glad that it easily passed and didn't take away from the dining experience. Great decor / murals on the...More

Hands down, the best chips and salsa in all of DuPage County. Others may try but El Serape has the best. It's unfortunate you are charged for additional baskets of chips though - they should be .free with your meal. The food is excellent but...More

Although the atmosphere is pleasant, the food is not good. The beer is cold, and the margaritas are drinkable if pedestrian. My waitress was new and doing her best, but the manager kept berating her thus making for an uncomfortable dining experience. We got charged...More

My kids, now teenagers, have loved the food here for many years which is the reason I still go there. Personally I find the food mediocre at best. Add to that the prices have soared ($10.00 for a chicken quesadilla A LA CARTE! and they...More

This is a small, friendly place with the typical Mexican fare on the menu, but I always order from the specials, which give me choices I've never seen elsewhere. The margaritas are the best I've ever had, and we always enjoy the flan for dessert.
