I've been trying to find an Italian restaurant that serves good Bolognese since one of my faves, Tré Bicchieri in Columbus, Indiana, changed its recipe. Ambrosia's sauce was bland and dry with a few chunks of tomatoes here and there. There wasn't very much flavor and it wasn't fresh. The dessert (spumoni) was very good and the bartender (I can't... This is not the best Italian in the city, but I can't quibble with value for the money. My spaghetti with meatballs was quite good at $16. Sauce was good and pasta was perfect al dente. My wife's dish, Medici, was a nice collection of flavors, but too salty. Biggest disappointment was the calamari, over fried and chewy. But a... More

Ann and I had the chance last night to take friends to the ever popular restaurant, Ambrosia. Our friends had not been there, and they were impressed by the happening scene and buzz of the dining room. The food was outstanding. Two of us had the special which was fettuccini laced with garlic, tomatoes, onion, wine, marinara sauce, and fall... More

Being our 45th anniversary while visiting some family who live in the Broad RIpple section of Indianapolis, we said lets go out for dinner but close by and walkable. Ambrosia being around the corner we said let's try it. Excellent choice we made!! Oysters are something I love and one of the special that evening was Delaware Bay oysters. Being... More

I really wanted to like this place since it is a local institution but at the price (for pasta) I can't give it a good rating. Service: - ordered 2 appetizers, only got 1 - the waiter was not at all knowledgable about the menu - several times he just said he didn't know or had to ask someone -... More

All in all, this was a very nice experience. Dark, quiet space. The grilled octopus appetizer was absolutely delicious! The bread was also superb. My Ligurian seafood stew was good - came with a side of pasta. Our waiter was informative and appropriately attentive. One of our dining companions complained that her vongole pasta was sandy from not-quite-clean clams. Overall,... More

We had a lovely dinner - each of the three of us had something different, and each of us delighted with our choice. Two of our diners also had dessert; the tiramisu and the cheesecake with raspberry glaze. Both were wonderful.

First visit to current location. Facility is well done, including contemporary interior, though flat black soaks up light and (more) elderly group nearby had to pull out a quartz light to read menu. Parking and rear entrance were well laid out for this high-traffic corner. Menu is not extensive. Wife's beet salad was attractive and apparently good. Wife's rustica was... More

Spent a relaxing night after work at the bar having some wine and salad. The pinot grigio was okay, I wouldn't order it again. The salad looked small but was packed with dark green lettuce, it was very good. I will say there was a loud group that was annoying, this is actually the second time I've been there when... More
