The Tamale Place, as seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, lives up to the hype. The tamales are fresh, natural and hand made, and they also offer a wide variety of other food. I tried the Chicken (in Green Sauce) Tamale, Steak Taco, Rice, Chips and White Cheese Dip...all of which I would order again. The staff... More

Well, I am not a tamale guy but I had one anyway and it was delicious. Options are available: traditional or banana leaf, spicy or mild, beef, chicken, pork or no meat choices. I prefer the Spicy Chipotle Chicken tacos w everything (cheese, onions and cilantro) and hot salsa, mmmmmm! Squeeze a little lime on those babys, add some salsa... More

I've always seen this place but had never actually made it in until around a year ago. surprisingly once I had gone in I had fallen absolutely in love with this place. It is so baffling to me how almost none of my friends have ever heard of this place.if you like tamales or tortas you MUST visit.

We've lived in the Indy area for almost two years now and this has become our favorite place. They are the best tamales we've ever had!! The customer service is awesome as well as everyone we've encountered is very friendly. Some even remember our names now so it feels very welcoming. Yes, sometimes they run out of tamales but that's... More

People rave about this place, but I didn't find anything I loved about it. Maybe it's because tamales are not my favorite Mexican food. The place is very informal, with Formica booths and tables and the like, and was very clean. Perhaps the tamales are really good... their other Mexican dishes, however, were just OK to me. Prices were very... More

Best tamales ever! I have had many different types and styles of tamales and the tamales here are very authentic! The flavor is perfect, the masa is fresh and moist, the variety/selection of tamales is also plentiful! I love the screen they have that not only shows what kinds of tamales are available it also shows the customer how many... More

I liked the update to date menu board that gave the exact amount of the tamales & types that were left. The spicy guacamole was very good. Unable to decide on tamale type each of us ordered 2 but could only finished 1 each. They both warmed well for a later meal.

One of my go to lunches. Love their tamales, always fresh! They do run out so go early. They authentic and so well prepared. 2 tamales will more than fill me up. I have gone multiple times and found it always consistent. Not a fancy restaurant!

These are the best tamales I've ever eaten! I usually get at least two different tamales, because I can't decide which one I want. Tip: The post the available tamales on a board, but if you ask them, they usually have more in the steamers. They chips and salsa are also excellent!
