While staying in Cattistock, we ate at this village pub twice. First tip, book if you're coming in the summer. We didn't and only just got a table on the second time despite arriving just after opening. On leaving both times a sign saying "fully booked for food" was out. We had some fantastic food here. A great selection of... More

If you are in the vicinity of Cattistock, the Fox and Hounds should not be missed. Located opposite a park and church, it is a quintessential English pub, right out of central casting. Larger than most small village pubs, it still feels intimate with nooks and crannies for small tables and quiet conversation. The drinks offers are the normal fare,... More

We have stayed at Fullers Earth B&B in Cattistock on several occasions over the past six years and have always had our evening meals in the Fox and Hounds. Since our very first visit there we have always felt most welcome by the owners and the locals and being able to relax there after a hectic day exploring wonderful Dorset... More

We booked two nights three weeks ago only to be told one day before (lucky we were at home and not travelling) that our reservation had been cancelled. No remorse shown whatsoever to our position of having to find an alternative at such short measure. We had to be in the area to attend a wedding and so I recommend... More

For a lovely atmosphere, good food and great beer you couldn't do much better. We ate here twice on a long weekend, we liked it so much. And to top it all Cattistock is a really nice village. Try it you won't be disappointed

We have been to this pub many times and thought it was great but we were deeply disappointed today. We booked a table for my dads 60th , his favourite pub, we travelled from Sherborne to find it is closed!! There was no answer on the phone or at the door. So it's safe to say we were very disappointed... More

Lovely room. Lovely landlord who dropped us in the next village for a party as we were unable to get a taxi very friendly. Lovely old pub. Partly from 15th century. Loved Cattistock

Had a lovely meal in here, friendly staff, very old pub with a welcoming open fire and great staff. Great portion sizes and I had a great Steak while my wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger. Lucy the black Labrador was my friend too, well for as long as I had food to feed her that was!

The pub is really good and the service is so so friendly they make you feel really welcome. A log fire is always lit in the pub. You get free wifi and the food is pure perfection. We are normally here for lunch - children and dogs are always welcome. Families should try this pub!

Called in for a quick lunch on a cold day. Very quiet in the bar. But a roaring log fire made for a cosy welcome. Excellent service. It isn't difficult to get a ham ciabatta alright; but it's challenging to get it as good as this one, with thickly cut, freshly cooked (so warm) ham, lots of mustard, a peppery... More
