Consider that you are family here. Good Ole comfort food in a no frills, but warm and friendly atmosphere. Close to UNI you'll see coeds, families, and older patrons all enjoying good food at reasonable prices. Baked goods too!

Great food and prices await you in this near traffic but off the beaten path little restaurant. Large menu with many homemade meals. The hot-beef sandwich is very good with real potato's and gravy! They also have great chicken and the onion rings are excellent! Everything it great I'd say. You can even get breakfast items later in the day... More

While driving through town my husband and I decided to find a local diner for dinner instead of having fast food. We found J's to be a delightful respite from the road. We were greeted warmly and had the best broasted chicken dinner. I'm not exagerating when I say the best chicken because it was fabulously moist and tender with... More

Good home cooking at a fair price. Fresh baked breads, daily. Breads, cookies and pies for sale by the piece or whole . Busy with local patrons . Good service. Daily specials. Large meals. You won't leave hungry.

Located near the UNI campus, this is a small, very clean cafe and bakery. I was there for breakfast, and based on a Trip Advisor review tried the biscuits and gravy. Served as one or two, and one is large. Clearly both a scratch-made biscuit and gravy -- no mixes here. Service was friendly and efficient. There's a small bakery... More

Good food, good service, at a fair price. The daily specials are worth checking out. The hot beef is a big sandwich, you may want to consider ordering a half, still plenty.

Wonderful food here but also great staff. The owner can quite often be seen visiting with guests, a real hometown feeling. Breakfasts are beyond explanation and very hard to finish. The quantity of food is enough for two breakfasts and you will definitely need a carry out; if for no other reason one of their sweets. And although it is... More

Takes one back in time to when a *diner* was a real diner. Homestyle cooking is the perfect description. Ate here for breakfast, everything was perfectly prepared and had just the right seasonings. Fresh baked bread was awesome and sorely missed in today's normal restaurant fare. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We will for certain visit again.

Eat everything here: breakfast, pies, BLTs, and especially anything with their HOMEMADE bread! Such good food made with such care. You've never eaten biscuits and gravy this fluffy before! :-)

This is a family owned restaurant similar to Happy Chef and Country Kitchen. Busy place, good service, large portions. Baked goods, too. They are very willing to make what you want, if the menu items don't work for you (such as one egg and toast for the dieter).
