Enjoyed a fabulous night at No. 5 Inn, Alva. We were a party of over 50 in number, and every single person had a super meal. That takes some organisation to have everyone served with hot, home cooked food at same time! Food was great value, excellent portions and freshly cooked. Lovely, friendly service too. Altogether excellent!

Booked for Sunday lunch, had a starter of Leek & Potato soup, served with a hot bread roll/butter (home made) tasty. Mains they only doing roast beef, but plenty of it and was tender. Looked after at the table by Sarah, who made us welcolme. A great 1st visit.

Contacted Alison ahead of time requesting a vegan meal, and gave an idea of what I was wanting, also explained we needed wheelchair access and a quiet table. Alison was very responsive and helpful with our email request. We were greeted and looked after by Katy who is a friendly and helpful front of house staff member. My partner enjoyed his steak pie and sticky toffee pudding. Thank you to the chef for making delicious food. My vegan meal was awesome, The music was very chilled and the atmosphere so relaxing we didn't want to leave. We moving to the area and thrilled to know this is going to be one of our local watering holes. Thank you to all the staff.

On previous visits I found the food ok and some dishes better than others but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. The last visit I had there I ordered steak pie (tiny portion with burnt pastry' with 'hand cut chips' (frozen fries) and a minuscule amount of vegetables. The standards have plummeted here recently.

Just had the most amazing meal at the No 5 in Alva....went with Partner,Daughter and Grandson(who has various allergy's) Friendly mine host Alison and her Staff made the our visit most enjoyable.Food was delicious and piping hot. Myself and Daughter had the Sunday roast and have to say, best Roast Beef I have had for years. Partner had Cajun Chicken. My Grandson had Macaroni cheese, after checking all ingredients with Chief, usually going out can be stressful as so hard to accommodate him but today was stress free. Great food, friendly atmosphere and excellent service 5*
Would highly recommend 👌
Looking forward to our next visit!!!

Well first time visiting this place as we have recently moved to the area and was quite excited to find somewhere nearby to eat.
Unfortunately just had a dreadful experience where we ordered chicken wings and as we chewed into them they were frozen this is totally unacceptable under any circumstances. We continued to the mains but we felt that we were very wary of what we were eating so in all very disappointing. The staff were lovely they offered an apology the manager however did not even mention it as she took the bill. Will not be back.

Sadly despite previous visits a poor experience. Steaks not cooked to order, drink orders forgotten about, halloumi cheese starter poorly designed and mixed, waiter seemed poorly trained and forgot essentials like finger bowl, adding banana to your Caribbean salad needs rethought out. In the end a disappointing visit to what could be a great place. Take a note out the Woodsman on quality and service.

Went tonight with the family and the menu for all ages was well varied. Food was delicious and portions plentiful, kids really enjoyed their meal and they were made very welcome. The desserts are to die for and the prices really reasonable, service was done with a smile and staff were very polite at all times, will be back.

The dining room was pleasant and comfortable with no intrusive music. The menu was very broad giving plenty of choice. The waiting staff were friendly, professional and efficient with the the food arriving without undue delay. When the food arrived it was of high quality and very enjoyable and at a reasonable price.
Overall we had a relaxed and enjoyable meal and will be going back, we live near to the restaurant but if we didn't, we would travel to it.

We booked dinner at short notice and what a 'treat' it turned out. An excellent menu to choose from and served to you by helpful and friendly staff. Our chicken and hamburger dishes were plentiful, well presented and most importantly, so tasty and enjoyable. All prices so reasonable.
After dinner you have the choice (should you wish) of having drinks in the lounge or in the sitting area outside.
Alva - you do have a local 'GEM'.

Stopped here for lunch - what a fantastic wee place, and the food was really good and so reasonably priced. They also do pensioner portions - and that was still a very generous amount for the price. The macaroni cheese was delicious. On top of that, the staff were so friendly. Well worth a visit.

We went for a family meal and were not disappointed. The food was very reasonably priced, presented lovely and tasted equally as nice. Lovely friendly staff and lots of care had been taken to be as COVID friendly as possible, which made it a lovely relaxing atmosphere

Carry out to the highest standard, food and hygiene was impeccable. This has got to be one of the best food (pub) you can purchase in Clackmannanshire. The food tastes absolutely delicious, I would recommend the Chinese curry with boiled rice and the sweet was very tasty. We can’t wait until this pub gets the go ahead to reopen again as I want to take all my family for a meal which I know they will be no complaints. Keep up the good work all and I wish you all the success when you get back to the new norm.

We were here for a family members 50th birthday last year and we all enjoyed that. Well here we were again, for the same sister’s birthday but this time we were in the main restaurant and although there was enough big family meal coming to an end it didn’t impact on our group. The menu is really comprehensive and most definitely had something for everyone. Half of our table had starters but I’m not too keen but everyone who had opted for soup were pleased with their choice.
There were a number of different main courses chosen and each one looked good and seemed to be fresh and piping hot. There were only two of us who went for desserts and yes, I was one of the two! Sticky toffee pudding, sauce and ice cream, fine dining at its best, divine!
The staff at No.5 are terrific, warm, friendly, professional and efficient. The ambiance is warm, comfortable and friendly, good food, good company, good evening had by all!

Yet again, another fantastic meal here. Anyone who hasn't been must try! Starter of mussels in a garlic sauce spot on! Main of fish & chips fab! Dessert of homemade pavlova fantastic! Compliments to the chef & very attentive waiting staff.
