It is meant to be a fine dinning restaurant. Unfortunately very ordinary. Not too pricey. The food is ordinary. However wine list is good. Service so so. Desert was good Would not recommend if you are looking for dinner dining

The Greenbriar provides a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy a meal. The food was prepared well. My steak was prepared as ordered. It was a large piece of meat, but nothing accompanied the meat except a salad that came before the entree. It would have...More

Great neighborhood restaurant with great food. We love to eat in the bar - the service seems better than the restaurant portion and just cozier. They claim the bar is open seating but on Friday or Saturday night you will find most of the tables...More

I come to Des Moines often and Greenbriar is a regular for me. Almost always on Wednesday though. Why Wednesday? 1/2 price wine on Wednesday! Anyway their steaks are awesome. Get the gunpowder crust. It's delicious. Prices are above average but not unreasonable.

The wine was good. The main course I had the salmon which was very ordinary. The dessert was outstanding The dining room was very Smoky. This was a business meeting with fixed menu, may be it was their B grade salmon.More

Hello, I am so sorry your experience was less than outstanding. We work very hard to give our guests an experience that is above average so I would like to extend my apology. Typically, the salmon is one of our most popular and favorite dishes...More

Very nice place....2 areas to sit, one a bit fancier. We opted for the lounge area, which was perfect.....jeans were de rigueur. Very nice wait person.....happy to explain the menu. We both had the Iowa pork, with the gunpowder rub. What a great meal! The...More

Nice place for work dinners. Traditional business type atmosphere and the menu had plenty of choices to accommodate many tastes. The service was attentive and timely. The food was nicely prepared. Our table had a mixture of steak and seafood, which all seemed to appreciate....More

We went to a late lunch. This place is so busy over lunch, they were reeling it's not a bad thing. Service was what we needed but I was on a leisurely schedule. The food was good but the portion size was much smaller than...More
