Amazing Food. Lovely quaint little pub. Staff very attentive especially Clare!! Definitely go again.. recommend highly..

We have been regulars for some years ,however have not visited for over 18 months because I have had health Issues and the pandemic ,unfortunately ,it was no were near the standards they used to have !,some portions really small ,prices higher for poor quality...,the king prawns which my Lady had starter and mains were as tough as old boots ,we were not asked about our meals by any of the staff all the way through ! my wife complained ,but nothing happened and then I was overcharged on the Bill they did not seam to careMore

The Bears Paw, originally a 17th century farmhouse with a not so common name and who’s origin comes in many forms, a type of Snow-Shoe, The shell of an East Indian Clam, a soup (which is outlawed in many countries) or a type of popular...pastry, with the latter being more apt for this lovely British Inn pub cum restaurant. Though this is my first visit my foodie partner for the evening is well acquainted with both Knutsford and The Bear Paw, which is surprising to some as she lives on the south coast. We could have opted for the lovely setting of the courtyard, but as evening approached the cooler breeze was building a tad too much. So inside and the lovely ambience awaited us as did the staff. I have to say we were greeted with lovely warm smiles and assistance, now whether this was due to the recognition of my partner I wasn’t too sure, until a another couple came in shortly after and was given the same treatment. That’s nice, and what a lovely way to start the evening. Drinks: Zinfandel Rose (bottle) Starter: Rosemary breaded Camembert* Duck Spring roll Main: Whole Tail Scampi* Gammon Steak Dessert: Belgian Waffle* Bread and Butter Pudding After dinner drinks: Gin and Orange, Water (I was driving) * Dining partner We both agreed that both the service and the food could be not faulted, and I would certainly enjoy giving this place another visit.More

Visited restaurant and had lunch courtyard .staff lovely and ambience great .good price Was extremely busy . Quaint place Food was ok. My partner liked the steak pie veg etc . Mine not so great pork was dry but sauce was lovely . Would visit...again but have something different.More

Me and my family stopped here on the way home down the M6 looking for some nice lunch. I knew we'd found a good place the minute I walked in and was greeted by nice members of staff. We sat outside in the courtyard and...it was perfect with the sun out! We all loved the food we had. The warm duck salad was superb! Very reasonable prices too. All the staff are friendly and attentive. I even got to chat to the chef who was glad to hear the good feedback. I'll be making sure I pop in again the next time I'm travelling up north!More

This country pub is located not too far away from the M6. We called in for lunch on a journey heading north. It is a charming old building with a nice dining area. The table service was very good we both chose from the light...options menu. I had a Ploughmans lunch and my partner had a small ham egg and chips. The quality was good, it was a generous size portion and good value at £14.45 for both.More

I believe in balance when reviewing fooderies so I rate as I find. This is a real cracker with great food, lovely staff, dog friendly spaces & brilliant value! The biggest problem here is choosing from the fantastic menu as there are so many great...dishes on it. We love it & as daily lunchers consider this to be our fave & the best for miles around!More
